Pre Press Technician

Role Description The Pre-press Technician is responsible for preparing and processing digital files for printing on various equipment platforms, ensuring that all artwork and layouts are correctly formatted for production. This role involves preflight incoming files for potential issues before being used in the printing process. Must be familiar with both Mac and PC environments and have experience working with the Adobe suite of products along with various other prepress applications for printing file management. Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, schedule will be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or similar. This is a remote position. Salary Range: 57k - 62.5k annually. Compensation commensurate with experience. Duties and Responsibilities - Facilitate continuous process improvement and industry best practice activities targeted at cost reduction, productivity, and process optimization in all lines of business. - Technical troubleshooting: assisting remotely with resolving issues related to image quality, machine malfunction, and software errors through online connections. - Provide technical expertise for complex issues that might require file adjustments and/or corrections. - Develop business requirement documents that clearly outline technology enhancement requests that support operational improvement efforts. - Partner with operations leadership to identify and improve workplace safety efforts. - Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s). - Comply with all safety policies and protocols to ensure a safe and secure working environment. - Attend all department/company meetings, as needed. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Three (3) to five (5) years working actively as a Prepress Operator/Technician managing and executing print jobs with precision and accuracy. - Advanced proficiency in processing and optimizing files for a wide range of printing formats, ensuring high quality, optimal results. - Knowledge of different print formats (e.g PDF, PostScript) and Prepress processes. - Proficiency in print related software (e.g. Adobe Acrobat). - Minimum high school diploma or GED. Requirements - Proficient computer knowledge efficiency skills in both MacOS and Windows. - Understanding of color management, paper types, and print production techniques. - Demonstrates strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the organization. - Excellent attention to detail - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. - Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to achieve common goals. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and engage effectively with others. Physical Demands - Regularly required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. - Use hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment. - Vision requirements – close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness. - Lifting or moving products weighing up to 50 pounds at, below or above shoulder level, may be required. Work Environment - Within this manufacturing environment, the employee is regularly exposed to noise at varying levels. - Employee will heavily rely on vision to ensure the quality of products.
