Data Center Operations Manager

• Responsible for running the day-to-day service activities for the Data Center Services Center Of Excellence. • Ensuring that we consistently exceed customer expectations. • Full accountability for the day-to-day execution within the Data Center Service segment as well as a central role in the development of our surge team. • Improves service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field service operations. • Develops, implements, and reviews field service strategy aligned with global business objectives. • Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention. • Drives continuous improvement, first‑time‑right execution, and KPI‑based performance management. • Identifies on‑site opportunities to enhance customer operations. • Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and effective end‑to‑end service delivery. • Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with all HSE standards and ABB Way requirements. • Oversees Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices. • Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians to ensure high‑quality execution. • Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve technical issues, support project execution, and drive continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market
  • Knowledge of MS suite of products including MS Project, Google suite of products (Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides), SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.)..
  • Must be able to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Technical understanding of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, etc.
  • Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
  • Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, and a proven customer‑focused mindset.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of time.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
