SAP Payroll Consultant, SuccessFactors

DyFlex Solutions

• Translate payroll business requirements into SAP Payroll and/or Employee Central Payroll (ECP) functional designs. • Support end‑to‑end SAP Payroll implementations, including design, configuration, testing, data migration, and go‑live support. • Assist with the configuration of payroll rules, wage types, schemas, and calculations in line with Australian payroll legislation. • Participate in client workshops to understand current‑state payroll processes and design future‑state SAP solutions. • Support payroll testing activities, including unit, integration, parallel, and user acceptance testing. • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and payroll compliance activities. • Work closely with senior consultants to build SAP functional and consulting capability.

Job Requirements

  • Proven hands‑on experience in Australian Payroll in an in‑house or outsourced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including STP Phase 2, Superannuation, and Fair Work .
  • Experience as an end user of payroll systems (SAP Payroll and/or SuccessFactors exposure is highly regarded but not mandatory).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an interest in how payroll systems are designed and configured.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders and project teams.
  • A clear desire to move from payroll operations into SAP functional consulting .

Role Description Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, North America, the Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of functions necessary for the accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll. The Payroll Specialist coordinates, validates, and implements work procedures that require comprehensive operational knowledge of federal and state regulations related to wage and hour, garnishment, taxation, and other payroll deductions. The Payroll Specialist will bring a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills. What you’ll do: - Perform all necessary duties in a timely manner to accurately process multi-state, bi-weekly and weekly payroll for salary, hourly union, and non-union employees. - Process on demand payments, retroactive payments, one-time payments, taxable fringe benefits, tax adjustments and equity-based compensation ensuring compliance with company policies, contracts, and federal and state regulations. - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of tax implications for different types of employee payments, including benefits and equity-based compensation. - Export and reconcile data from the time and attendance system and review/audit timecard data for accuracy. - Conduct thorough reviews and audits of payroll registers, timecard data, and third-party payments to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Handle stop payments, void checks, direct deposit reversals, and overpayment collections in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. - Provide support to employees and management regarding payroll-related inquiries, demonstrating strong communication and technical skills. - Interpret and implement withholding orders for various purposes, such as levies, garnishments, and child support, ensuring compliance within regulatory timelines. - Conduct audits of HR forms in the HRIS system, including new hire information, terminations, pay-rate changes, and location changes, collaborating with HR and managers to resolve discrepancies. - Complete Year end processing and reconciliations including W2’s and state filings. - Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls. - Other duties as required. Qualifications - 3-5+ years of experience in multi-state payroll for hourly, salary, union and seasonal employees. - Strong knowledge of taxable fringe benefits and processing of Certified Payroll for State and Federal Projects. - Previous experience with Dayforce payroll software. - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred. - Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations with an emphasis on multi-state taxation and garnishments. - Experience and knowledge of State Labor laws. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information accurately, clearly and in a manner easily understood. - Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and effectively manage internal/external relations. - Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a diplomatic and tactful manner. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. - Legal Authorization to work in the US is required.
