Storyboard Writer – Video Editor

• Create performance-driven storyboards for social media ads • Define the full visual flow of each ad — talking head, B-roll, actions • Specify exactly what the actor is doing and showing in every moment • Provide clear direction to editors on what to do (include stock footage, generate with AI, etc) • Develop strong hooks, angles, and structures based on what’s currently working • Think in scroll-stopping moments, pattern interrupts, and retention drivers • Iterate concepts based on performance data and feedback • Stay on top of trends, formats, and winning ad patterns • Collaborate closely with marketing, editors, and copywriters to improve results • Edit ads when needed to execute or refine your concepts
Job Requirements
- Experience in storyboarding for ads
- Experience with DTC brands or UGC formats
- Strong understanding of performance marketing and direct-response principles
- Understanding of core performance metrics (hook rate, hold rate, retention)
- Strong instinct for what feels native to each platform
- Familiarity with current trends and ad formats
- Comfortable using AI tools (avatars, voice, generative video, etc.)
- Solid editing skills (Premiere Pro / After Effects)
- Strong written English (clear, concise, conversion-focused)
- Ability to work fast, iterate, and handle multiple concepts simultaneously
