This role is designed for a maker who thrives on agility, someone who can produce high-quality work under tight timelines and small-crew conditions while delivering content that feels premium, authentic, and editorially credible. The Video Creator partners closely with Integrated Producers, Creative Directors, and Editors to bring stories to life across social, digital, and short-form video. From shooting real people and lifestyle moments to crafting polished edits optimized for multiple platforms, this role bridges the gap between production and post. Hybrid 3x a week- New York In-Office Expectations: This position is a hybrid in-office role, with the ability to work remotely up to 2 days per week. About The Team: Studio at People Inc. is the creative engine powering branded content for some of the world’s most iconic brands. We produce at the intersection of editorial credibility, cultural fluency, and creative innovation. The production team is the backbone of this operation, turning bold creative into polished, authentic work that delivers impact for clients and audiences. About The Positions Contributions: 50% - Provide creative and technical input on how to approach video capture that follows overall client specifications and guidelines, as well as the specific vision for each project. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders upon project kickoff to ensure smooth execution. - Lead internal and external pre-production meetings. - Utilize a variety of cameras, lighting, and grip equipment. - Implement both internal and client feedback in real time to ensure continued DDM brand and client alignment. - Collaborate with Creative Directors and Producers to translate concepts into executable shoot plans. - Scout and recommend locations, props, and light setups that align with creative vision and budget. - Build shot lists, storyboards, and production outlines to guide on-set flow. - Collaborate with Content Strategists and Creative Directors to ensure tone, style, and storytelling align with brand voice and audience insights. - Coordinate with talent, crew, and producers to prep for efficient, small-footprint shoots. - Serve as primary camera operator and on-set producer for small-scale shoots. - Direct talent and real people with empathy and clarity to capture authentic performances. - Manage lighting, audio, and composition to achieve a clean, cinematic look even in lean setups. - Provide recommendations on visual trends, equipment, and editing techniques to keep the studio’s output modern and competitive. - Partner with Social and Editorial teams to tailor content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms. 25% - Work with the Line Producer on pre-production needs, such as booking crew, securing locations, creating shot lists, securing equipment (in-house or rentals), conducting talent pre-interviews, creating the shoot schedule and call sheets, and booking catering. - Providing answers and direction for the set. - Occasional scripting and working with talent to deliver VO, when applicable. - Video editing to create a variety of asset types, including long-form videos, social content, and sizzles. - Manage the post-production process, including ingest, editing, rounds of revisions, delivery, and archive. - Seamlessly apply feedback from internal parties as well as the client. 25% - Work closely with the Integrated Production team to manage timelines, feedback, and delivery schedule. - Capture b-roll, stills, and behind-the-scenes footage for social extensions. The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Experience: - 1-3 years of production experience in branded content, media, or advertising. - Experience shooting, producing, and editing video content in a professional capacity, track record working in branded content is strongly preferred. - Experience with quick turnarounds and implementing intensive revisions. - Social video creation experience is a must.
