Job Summary: The Insurance Coordinator supports the growth of Insurance Solutions by executing key tasks involved in placing new insurance coverage and managing in‑force policies across life, long-term care, disability, and annuity product lines. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of new business processes, is highly organized, technologically fluent, and confident working directly with both wealth advisors and clients. They bring a polished, customer centric approach and demonstrate persistence when advocating for clients with carriers and brokerage partners. Candidates with both case management and sales desk experience at carriers or brokerage general agencies are strongly preferred. Essential Job Functions for this role include: - Engage directly with clients to gather required documents, information, and signatures for new insurance applications - Coordinate with brokerage general agencies to obtain materials for insurance reviews (e.g., in‑force ledgers, policy statements, competitive quotes) - Support service requests for policies sold through Mercer (e.g., beneficiary changes, address changes) - Assist clients with completing insurance applications and related paperwork - Maintain accurate, complete records in Mercer’s CRM system (Aspen) - Manage and resolve open CRM action items - Deliver a high-quality, responsive, client-first experience for both clients and advisors - Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Client Service Specialists) - Assist with onboarding new hires - Perform additional duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Bachelor’s degree - Active life and health insurance license - 5+ years of experience with a life insurance carrier or brokerage general agency in case management and sales desk roles. - Deep expertise in new business processes for life, LTC, DI, and annuity products - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills - Outstanding organizational skills; detail focused; able to multitask and follow through reliably - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Strong commitment to supporting financial planners and the insurance new business process - Skilled at managing information flows and documentation - Client -first mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service - Collaborative team player Location: This position can be anywhere in the US, but will need to be able to travel to the office located nearest them. Work Schedule: This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs. All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. Working Conditions: This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time.
