Essential Functions - Lead, mentor and support a large cadre of experienced engineering individuals overseeing teams across the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand - Own product intent, portfolio priorities, and trade-off decisions across assigned product lines, acting as the accountable voice for both engineering and product outcomes - Devise and apply communications strategies to align a global, cross-functional workforce around product and delivery goals - Engage stakeholders to reconcile strategic, commercial, and technical priorities - translating customer signal into product direction - Assemble and monitor high-performance, multidisciplinary engineering teams - Set objectives, monitor performance, promote communication, and ensure the well-being of direct reports - Support administrative tasks to ensure timely processing of actions affecting direct reports Technical & Product Responsibilities - Define and guard product intent - establishing what each product is, what it is not, and who it is for - and restate this when scope pressure arises - Collaborate with team leads to review high-level architecture, internal project goals, and technical barriers - Partner with stakeholders to refine project priorities and adapt deliveries based on evolving market and customer requirements - Analyze program requirements and develop effort estimates in conjunction with program management partners - Maintain depth in respective disciplines and contribute to ongoing software projects in research, engineering, or quality assurance Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: - Substantial experience in CNO development/offensive cyber security. - Experience in low-level programming languages and instruction sets. - Ability to install and operate developer debugging tools on Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS. - Demonstrated proficiency using reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, or Hopper and dynamic tools such as Frida or ADB. - Demonstrated proficiency of mobile platform (Android or iOS) internals, native programming languages (Objective-C, Swift, Java, and/or Kotlin), and system security mechanisms. - 8+ years of experience in software development, process automation, quality engineering, or network operations. - Working knowledge of operating system and application vulnerability classes. - Proven experience analyzing malware samples and understanding mitigations provided by software patches. - Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), git workflows, and continuous integration/delivery platforms (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab). - Knowledge and practical experience with agile software development methodologies. - 4+ years of experience leading a team. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $97,000 - $207,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. This role will work closely with the Sales PMO and Program Delivery teams to ensure project delivery requirements, milestone commitments, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined prior to shipment and rigorously executed post-delivery. The position spans Ford Land and Ford Energy Engineering and carries end-to-end accountability for commissioning readiness, site execution alignment, issue resolution, and technical closeout. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in utility-scale or commercial BESS commissioning, startup, and system handover, with the technical depth to evaluate readiness across battery systems, DC architecture, controls, thermal management, and site interfaces. While Ford will leverage service support through third parties, this role is accountable for building and retaining Ford Energy’s internal commissioning governance, decision-making authority, and technical ownership.
