Role Description - Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions in Xero, including multicurrency entries and intercompany reconciliations. - Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns and coordinate annual statutory filings with external accountants, ensuring compliance with UK tax and reporting requirements. - Coordinate with Supply Chain on purchase orders and vendor invoicing, maintaining an accurate payables ledger and scheduling payments in line with cash flow priorities. - Support financial planning and forecasting, including cash flow projections, budget variance analysis, and scenario modelling to inform leadership decisions. - Produce consolidated financial statements using Xero’s multi-entity tools or integration with consolidation platforms (e.g., Syft, Joiin), ensuring accurate elimination of intercompany balances. - Manage multicurrency accounting processes, including foreign exchange revaluations, currency gain/loss tracking, and alignment of bank feeds across GBP and USD accounts. - Oversee US sales tax compliance, including tracking nexus obligations by state, preparing and filing state-level sales tax returns, and maintaining accurate tax rate configurations. - Coordinate inventory cycle counts with third-party warehouses and 3PL locations, reconciling physical counts against book values and investigating variances. Qualifications - 7+ years of hands-on experience in accounting or finance roles, with direct responsibility for multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction bookkeeping — this is a doer role, not a delegation role. - Strong working knowledge of Xero, including bank rules, repeating invoices, fixed asset register, and reporting. - Experience with Joiin (or similar consolidation tools) for group-level reporting across multiple Xero organisations. - Familiarity with UK VAT schemes, Companies House filing deadlines, and working alongside external auditors or tax advisors. - Experience with US state-level sales tax reporting, including economic nexus thresholds and multi-state filing requirements. - Experience coordinating inventory reconciliations with 3PL providers and third-party warehouses. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment spanning the UK and US.
