• Deliver a smooth and efficient customer onboarding experience for Sorren’s bookkeeping services and related add-ons, including but not limited to technology/SaaS, e-commerce, cryptocurrency, and advanced Controller and CFO services. • Apply strong technical accounting expertise to review new client financials, identify complexities, risks, gaps, and historical issues, and determine the appropriate scope of work. • Clearly communicate onboarding requirements, cleanup needs, timelines, and expectations to clients, ensuring alignment before work begins. • Partner closely with Accounting team members to translate identified complexities into actionable plans and ensure proper execution. • Set the tone for a proactive and collaborative relationship between the customer and the Accounting Team. • Support Sorren CAS team members by answering questions related to complex and advanced accounting issues, providing guidance, and removing roadblocks so teams can maintain productivity. • Troubleshoot advanced accounting and operational problems, develop action plans, and recommend solutions or additional services when appropriate. • Perform special projects that support Sorren’s internal CAS operations and focus on improving efficiency, consistency, and quality. • Work collaboratively across Operations, Accounting, Tax, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs and shared accountability. • Support healthy client relationships by serving as a point of coordination and escalation on assigned accounts, working collaboratively with internal teams as needed.
• Manage and review complex accounting functions, including reconciliations, adjusting entries, bill payments, and accounts receivable for multiple entities • Oversee annual accounting procedures to prepare financial records for tax preparation, 1099s, and tangible personal property returns • Prepare financial compilations on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis based on client needs • Identify and address material misstatements, inconsistencies, and risks in financial reports • Provide advisory and financial consulting services to clients, leveraging industry expertise • Prepare engagement budgets and monitor performance to ensure efficient use of resources • Foster and develop meaningful client relationships to ensure expectations are clearly defined and met • Conduct detailed reviews of engagements, providing constructive feedback and mentoring less experienced team members • Research complex accounting issues and present recommendations with supporting documentation • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to address project statuses and financial concerns • Participate in training programs and independent learning to maintain and expand technical knowledge • Demonstrate time management skills to prioritize engagements and ensure timely delivery of work • Perform other duties and display flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership • Meet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity
Billing and Collections Supervisor

• Oversee daily billing operations and invoice processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. • Review and approve invoices, adjustments, write-ups/downs, and billing corrections prior to release. • Serve as a subject matter expert on CCH billing software, time and billing systems, and revenue cycle processes. • Support implementation of standardized billing procedures, billing controls, and workflow improvements. • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and support collection efforts on outstanding balances. • Partner with internal teams and clients to resolve billing disputes, invoice questions, and payment issues. • Collaborate with A/R staff to ensure accurate payment posting, receivable reconciliation, and collections tracking. • Assist with month-end close processes related to billing and accounts receivable. • Mentor billing and A/R staff through guidance, training, and real-time problem solving.
• Conduct interviews with client technical and financial personnel to gather information on qualified research activities and expenses under IRC §41. • Draft technical project documentation, ensuring audit readiness and alignment with IRS standards. • Prepare R&D tax credit calculations involving W-2 wages, supply costs, contract research, and cloud hosting. • Conduct reviews of deliverables, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, gaps, or errors before submission to Managers or Associate Directors. • Ensure formatting, terminology, and content align with firm templates and quality standards. • Maintain clear, organized workpapers and documentation in accordance with internal processes. • Maintain accurate tracking of project tasks, deliverables, and deadlines using the firm’s project management systems. • Participate in internal initiatives related to methodology improvements, technical training, and documentation standards. • Adhere to SOPs, internal style guides, and quality control procedures. • Take full responsibility for the quality and completeness of assigned tasks and reviews. • Communicate proactively with managers about risks, blockers, or inconsistencies in client data or deliverables. • Exhibit consistency, clarity, and reliability in all work, contributing to the firm’s high standard of delivery. • Ownership of meeting personal KPI metrics. • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, providing updates and addressing questions. • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns to enhance team performance and skill development. • Contribute to team efforts by assisting with projects and engaging in collaborative problem-solving. • Stay updated on tax laws and best practices through ongoing training and independent learning. • Manage engagements efficiently, meeting deadlines, particularly during high-demand periods. • Perform other duties and displays flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership. • Meet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity.
