Graphic Designer

VALD

• Develop graphic design projects from concept to completion. • Execute graphic design projects from concept through to finished assets, with guidance from senior designers when needed. • Work closely with marketing, product and sales teams to turn messaging and ideas into engaging visual content. • Design and produce short and long format documents such as white papers, professional reports, presentations and other editorial style assets, with strong focus on layout, hierarchy and readability. • Lead document set-up and layout using Adobe InDesign, ensuring consistency, structure and brand alignment across complex, multi-page documents. • Create and refine visual assets for print, digital advertising and internal communications. • Edit, update and adapt existing design files while maintaining brand consistency and layout integrity. • Share ideas and contribute to team discussions on design direction and creative solutions. • Stay aware of current design trends, tools and best practices to support efficient, high-quality outputs. • Present design concepts clearly and respond constructively to feedback. • Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines, staying organised and detail oriented.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design (or similar).
  • Minimum 2 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with Adobe InDesign used as the primary software for document setup and layout.
  • Experience designing short- and long-form documents, including white papers, reports or other professional publications.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, with clear examples of document layout, editorial design or professional report work strongly encouraged.
  • Web design experience and understanding of web best practices (basic HTML/CSS knowledge desirable).
  • Experience creating graphics and reusable templates for videography (e.g. lower thirds, title cards, overlays or motion-ready layouts) is desirable.
  • Figma experience highly regarded.
  • Strong eye for detail, formatting and visual hierarchy.
  • Excellent ability to interpret, challenge and work from creative briefs.
  • Confident presenting concepts clearly and justifying design decisions.
  • Skilled at gathering, interpreting and implementing feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing several projects at once and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motion graphics, 3D design and advertising or agency background highly regarded.

Role Description We are seeking a skilled Blast and Protective Design Lead to join our growing Buildings Sector team. Responsibilities - Provide physical security/protective design consulting services for new and existing construction. Physical security topics include, but are not limited to, blast design, site layout, progressive collapse, and design of vehicle barriers. - Perform calculations to determine blast loading environments. - Perform nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures and façade systems using single degree of freedom, multi degree of freedom, and finite element analysis methodologies for dynamic blast loadings. - Perform nonlinear, dynamic analyses of building structures using SAP 2000, ETABS, and other commercially available software for the prevention of progressive collapse. - Read and interpret design drawings and REVIT models. - Transfer design information from calculations to structural, architectural, and physical security drawings/models. - Draft reports and memorandums to communicate physical security requirements and other technical design information. - Coordinate physical security requirements and design information with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. - Review shop drawings, calculations, and RFIs related to physical security design items during construction.
