Job Description

Staff Accountant

Nucleus Security

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and keep supporting schedules clean and audit-ready • Handle key procedural elements of the accounts payable process, including entering invoices into the accounts payable system, obtaining proper approvals, establishing proper GL coding, and triggering disbursements • Onboard new vendors, request and store Form W-9s, and process Form 1099s • Support revenue recognition (SaaS / ASC 606 exposure is a plus) • Assist with customer invoicing and billing processes • Assist with annual GAAP financial statement audits, tax return preparation, and any other outside examinations, as needed, including preparing and sending data requests • Continuously look for ways to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

Job Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in public accounting or at a tech/startup environment
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience supporting month-end close
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, comfort with large datasets)
  • Self-starter who’s comfortable with some ambiguity
  • Experience with corporate card & expense management platforms (preferred)
  • Experience with accounting/ERP platforms (preferred)
  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business (preferred)
  • Exposure to billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable processes (preferred)
