Linux Systems Administrator

Oddball

• Administer and maintain Linux servers supporting data platforms, applications, and shared services. • Perform system configuration, patching, monitoring, and performance tuning across environments. • Manage user access, permissions, and system hardening aligned with security best practices. • Support containerized and cloud-based Linux workloads. • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues impacting applications, databases, or analytics systems. • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting and configuration tools. • Maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, and configuration records. • Collaborate with DevOps, data engineering, and security teams to support secure delivery and platform reliability. • Support vulnerability remediation, compliance checks, and audit readiness activities.

Job Requirements

  • Experience administering enterprise Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of system administration concepts including networking, storage, and access control.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure or virtualized environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting performance, stability, or configuration issues.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
  • Understanding of security best practices within regulated or enterprise environments.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and security teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
