Principal Specialist, Program Cost Controls (Planner/Scheduler)

Role Description This position is responsible for development, integration, analysis, documentation and presentation of program plans and schedules for the Avionics Commercial Schedule team. This position requires advanced experience with Microsoft Project, working knowledge of planning, schedule/cost integration processes and earned value techniques. - Update/maintenance across the program schedule, while monitoring the development and maintenance of the critical path, network logic, and schedule forecasting. - Work in parallel with the project cost analyst to ensure the cost and schedule are integrated. - Apply knowledge and educate program teams of company policies, procedures, & guidelines to ensure plans and schedules are in compliance. - Prepare and present schedule reports and briefings to management and perform other business related functions as directed by the business lead and technical management. - Perform analysis on the Integrated Master Schedule to convey trend and issues to program leadership. - Review Critical Path to ensure it makes sense with solution the program is delivering to a customer. - Develop an understanding of the engineering development life cycle, discern processes, and/or data that conflicts technically. - Work with team members to expand the schedule (into a detailed program schedule) that includes program dependencies. - Ability to perform schedule independent analysis, as well as being capable of performing scheduling process root cause analysis, defining and implementing corrective scheduling processes. - Able to Travel up to 5%. Qualifications - Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. - Experience working with cross functional teams (Finance, engineering, and others). Requirements - Experience with integrated schedules and network logic using Microsoft Project software (or equivalent). - Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM). - Knowledge of Project Management. - Background with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
