Principal Aerospace Software Certification Engineer

Archer

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of System, Software, Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) and Cybersecurity Design Assurance processes for Archer internal development and for Suppliers. • Review and approve Software/AEH life-cycle data for Archer internal development and for Suppliers as company DER, if delegated. • Execute System Design Assurance Reviews for Archer internal system development according to the established system processes and tools for compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761 and support the Certification Authorities reviews for ARP4754A. • Execute Supplier Oversight and Design Assurance Company Reviews as SME for Systems, Software and AEH developments according to Archer established process for compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761, DO-178C and supplements, DO-254 and other certification regulations. • Support the approval of Cybersecurity processes with the Certification Authorities for Archer products. • Support the generation and independent reviews of Archer System, Software/AEH and Cybersecurity development and verification processes, as needed. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Archer System, Software and AEH processes, with focus on compliance with ARP4754A/ARP4761, DO-254 DO-178C and supplements. • Interface with FAA DERs and Certification Authorities for coordination, execution and follow-up of systems, software and AEH compliance reviews. • Maintain and control the issues found in all System/Software/AEH design assurance activities until resolution.

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in System and Software/AEH Design Assurance activities for aerospace standards.
  • At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience with full lifecycle safety critical systems, software/AEH complying with design assurance standards like ARP4754A/B, ARP4761, DO-254 and DO-178C with supplements.
  • SW/AEH DER authorization for Part 23 DAL B.
  • Experience with multiple systems and software/AEH environments and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in fast-paced, demanding work environments.
  • Experience with agile/lean methodologies.
