• Prepare structural inspection reports (including pier, reinforcement, framing, pre-purchase, and as-built inspections) • Produce concept mark-ups and structural drawings for new builds and extensions • Draft and update structural documentation using AutoCAD and existing templates • Conduct structural design checks on timber, steel, and concrete elements to assess adequacy • Prepare and document engineering calculations to support design decisions and compliance • Set up and manage jobs in internal systems • Process invoicing and record payments using Xero • Monitor job progress and follow up with engineers to ensure timely completion of tasks • Assist in preparing project scopes and quotations based on drawings and client requirements • Support improvements in workflows, systems, and processes, including identifying inefficiencies and automation opportunities • Assist in developing templates and onboarding documentation to improve operational efficiency
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in structural engineering supporting an Australian residential sector or a technical operations/drafting role
- Proficient in AutoCAD and structural drawing interpretation
- Strong understanding of Australian building codes and standards
- Experience with Xero and/or project management tools (e.g. Monday.com, Asana, WorkflowMax), and OneDrive
- Experience in a service-based or startup-style environment is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with ability to provide clear updates and coordinate with stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Able to work independently in a remote setup and manage digital workflows effectively
- Access to a reliable laptop (non-Apple) and high-speed internet
