Human Resources Manager

Student Transportation of Canada

Role Description Student Transportation of Canada is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager based in Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager will provide operational HR support to multiple branches across Eastern Canada. This role is responsible for supporting operational leadership teams with: - Employee relations matters - Workplace investigations - Compliance with employment legislation The HR Manager will work closely with local management to: - Address workplace concerns - Provide guidance on company policies - Ensure consistent HR practices across operating locations The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment. This is a remote position but travel to various operations is required (primarily eastern Canada). Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package. Job Duties - Act as first point of contact for employee relations issues and provide proactive advice - Provide HR support and guidance to operational leaders across multiple branches - Conduct workplace investigations - Provide guidance to management regarding disciplinary processes, documentation, and performance management - Assist in resolving complex employee relations matters in a timely and professional manner - Stay current and ensure compliance to all applicable legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act - Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective - Support recruitment and staffing needs for operational positions as required - Maintain strong working relationships with management teams to support operational needs - Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices - Collective Bargaining committee member - Travel periodically to company operating locations to support investigations and HR initiatives Qualifications - Post secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field - Minimum seven years of progressive Human Resources experience - CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset - Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations matters - Thorough knowledge of Ontario legislation; Employment Standards and Human Rights Legislation - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - Previous labour relations experience preferred - Previous experience with UKG considered an asset - Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills - Ability to deal with people in a respectful manner, with empathy and professionalism at all times - Ability to take initiative, prioritize workload and deploy as needed to reach and surpass business objectives - Ability to travel periodically to company operating locations Company Description Student Transportation of Canada is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
