Role Description The Workday Extend Enterprise Architect is a senior consulting and solution leadership role responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise-grade custom applications and extensions built on the Workday Extend platform across Strada's Global Workday practice. This role is designed as a split role, balancing Sales & Solutions support and Delivery support. The Extend Architect partners closely with Sales, Delivery, Product Leads, Integrations, Change Management, and the Workday Alliance to support growth, ensure high-quality application solutions, and provide architectural and solution road mapping support to both prospective and existing clients. Sales & Solutions Support - Support new and existing clients through Extend strategy and feasibility assessments, including current-state analysis and future-state application roadmaps. - Participate in presales activities including discovery, use-case qualification, high-level solution design, and estimation. - Advise clients on when to leverage Workday Extend versus native configuration or integrations. - Contribute to go-to-market assets such as solution overviews, executive summaries, and architecture diagrams. Delivery Support & Architectural Governance - Define and govern end-to-end Workday Extend solution architectures. - Review and approve Extend designs prior to development and deployment. - Serve as an escalation point for complex technical, architectural, or performance challenges. - Support ongoing optimization by recommending enhancements and roadmap updates. - Ensure solutions align with Strada standards and Workday best practices. Practice & Capability Development - Develop reusable Extend components, accelerators, and reference designs. - Support definition of Extend delivery standards and methodologies. - Mentor Extend developers, technical consultants, and architects. - Support internal training, certification planning, and capability growth. Alliance & Collaboration - Collaborate with Workday Extend product and alliance teams to stay aligned to platform capabilities. - Support early adopter programs and innovation initiatives. - Align Strada Extend offerings with Workday’s platform roadmap. Qualifications - 8+ years of Workday experience with platform, technical, or development focus. - Hands-on experience designing and delivering Workday Extend solutions. - Strong understanding of integrations, APIs, security, and tenant architecture. - Experience providing client-facing solution architecture and technical leadership. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications - Workday Extend certification. - Experience with agile delivery and DevOps practices. - Prior consulting or technical leadership experience. - Experience in complex, global Workday environments.
