Job Purpose: - Assist the Operational team, undertaking day-to-day job requirements of FTTH and FTTP. - Work directly in communication with the customer as part of a one or two-man team depending on work stream. Key Responsibilities: - Support Fibre Coach with leading testing potential fibre routes and installing fibre infrastructure in underground networks. - Prepare cable sheath to enter Closure / Micro Closures / CDC / Wall box. - Route fibres within closures / CDC and Transport Tubes as per a splicing schedule. - Prepare fibres for splicing. - Confident in the use and basic maintenance of a Works tablet, fibre splicing machine, OTDR, Power Meter, Fibre Identifier, and Micro Scope. - Splice within loss limits. - Dress the fibre and close the Closure / CDC to the manufacturer's instructions. - Support restraining and labelling of trays and cables. - Dispose of scrap fibres and cable safely. - Confident in reading and understanding test results for troubleshooting purposes. - Strong communication skills are absolutely essential; ability to communicate between co-workers and third parties. - Judge minor changes within a network and report those changes to the Fibre Coach and Fibre Manager. Qualifications - NRSWA unit 2. - Open reach accredited pole certification, SA001, SA002, NRSWA, IPAF, Smart card desirable. - Demonstrable experience with a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment, in a senior engineering role. - Advanced knowledge of FTTP and FTTH technologies. - Operations and maintenance of metro/long-haul optical transmission networks, DWDM, and SDH or SONET technologies. - Working with optical transmission equipment from well-established sources. - Sound ability to diagnose problems with existing equipment and fix faults up to resolution. - Ability to communicate fluently with customers and possess good customer service skills. Role Description We are currently seeking a Snowflake Junior Engineer to join our team in Remote, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN). - Design and implement Snowflake schemas, tables, views, materialized views, and stages to support migrated workloads. - Recreate/translate Yellowbricks tables, views, and logic into Snowflake with functional equivalence. - Collaborate with dbt developers to ensure dbt models are aligned with Snowflake best practices (clustering, micro-partitioning, warehouses). - Develop and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures (Snowflake Scripting), and views used by dbt, Databricks, and BI tools. - Implement and manage Snowflake roles, grants, and security models in line with enterprise standards. - Support performance tuning for complex queries, including warehouse sizing, result caching, clustering, and statistics. - Assist with data migration and validation between Yellowbricks and Snowflake (row counts, aggregates, and spot checks). - Contribute to CI/CD implementation for Snowflake objects (using Azure DevOps or similar). - Work closely with onshore architects and leads, attending overlap meetings in US time zones as required. Qualifications - 2-4 years of experience in Data Engineering / DW development, with 2+ years on Snowflake. - Strong hands-on SQL skills and experience with large-scale DW solutions. - Solid understanding of Snowflake architecture (warehouses, databases, schemas, stages, virtual warehouses, security roles). - Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Azure and its integration with Snowflake (ADLS/Blob, ADF/Synapse, Key Vault). - Prior exposure to migration from MPP platforms (Yellowbricks, Teradata, Netezza, etc.) to Snowflake is a plus. - Familiarity with dbt, Databricks, or ETL tools (Informatica) is an advantage. - Experience working in offshore delivery models, collaborating with onshore teams.
