Role Description This is a work-from-home position, with the option to work from a company office where available. In support of our 24x7x365 operations, this role follows a standard weekday schedule with participation in an on-call rotation and occasional off-hours maintenance. We are looking for a Systems Administrator (Linux / Storage / Infrastructure) to support and maintain our global backup and recovery platform. This role is focused on day-to-day operations, system reliability, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with senior engineers to keep systems running smoothly, troubleshoot issues, and help improve how we build and operate our platform. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in Linux environments, has experience with storage systems such as Ceph (or similar), and is interested in automation using tools like Ansible and AWX. Responsibilities - Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in a multi-datacenter environment - Support and operate storage platforms (Ceph or similar distributed storage technologies) - Assist with provisioning, configuration, and deployment of servers and services - Use and support automation tools such as Ansible and AWX for system configuration and deployments - Respond to alerts, investigate issues, and resolve operational problems - Perform routine maintenance including patching, updates, and hardware coordination - Follow and improve operational procedures and deployment processes - Create and maintain documentation including runbooks, diagrams, and system inventory - Collaborate with senior engineers to improve system performance, reliability, and automation - Assist with escalations and support activities when needed Qualifications - Required: - 3–5 years of experience in Systems Administration or a similar role - Strong Linux administration skills (command line, system services, troubleshooting) - Experience with storage platforms (Ceph, SAN, NAS, or similar) - Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLANs, routing fundamentals) - Experience working in production environments - Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow through to resolution - Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving systems - Preferred: - Experience with Ansible and/or AWX for automation and configuration management - Experience with Ceph in a production environment - Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, KVM) - Basic scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar) - Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) - Exposure to multi-datacenter or distributed systems environments Requirements - Participation in an on-call rotation is required - On-call time is compensated, and we aim to distribute responsibilities fairly across the team - Occasional off-hours work is expected for scheduled maintenance Benefits - Competitive salary - The company paid benefits such as Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life - Generous 401k matching - Pick your own equipment.
