• Lead a broad range of activities to grow the firm’s consultancy business within the pharmaceutical sector • Develop and execute strategy • Drive business and product development • Oversee resource recruitment and development • Support sales and marketing efforts • Deliver internal and external training • Provide leadership in project management • Develop a comprehensive strategic plan to support the growth and development of SGS consultant services in NAM for Pharmaceutical and its supply chains sector • Define and execute the roadmap to convert strategy into action with key milestones to drive business expansion • Participate in marketing-led exercises to demonstrate thought leadership and market penetration • Provide Technical Support to sales team • Assist VP in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans for pharmaceutical sector • Determine the resource requirements to grow the business. • Support the recruitment of consultants/experts • Ensure the technical operation and resources are equipped to deliver against key milestones and in accordance to customer KPIs • Work closely with the Global team to translate global initiatives in the NAM market • Identify skill gaps and lead the training and mentoring of existing resources • Expand the service offering beyond consultant services • Maintain competence and consultant credentials for agreed schemes by taking additional and/or refresher course(s) • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to define and implement go-to-market strategies • Provide technical advice to sales, marketing, operations, and management as required • Coordinate with Key Account Specialists to ensure projects are scheduled in a timely manner • Perform consultant services as needed • Ensure the consultants/experts adhere to SGS global/local Procedures and closely follows specific procedures • Support and respond to client inquiries on all technical matters regarding pharmaceutical consultants • Development of systems, processes, and procedures to effectively deliver the service • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiencies • Collaborate closely with other business sectors and functional areas to ensure effective management of resources. • Establish a winning collaborative culture that embraces change, risk taking, and innovative thinking.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Business Management, Operations or related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Testing, Inspection, Certification)
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Frequent travel required (34%-66%)
- Advanced English
- Advanced reasoning skills/abilities
- Intermediate mathematical skills
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Basic French preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of current standards and legislation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Role Description The Director of Higher Education Strategy supports Project Kitty Hawk (PKH) in extending the benefits of public higher education to all North Carolinians. This position is an experienced relationship manager who is familiar with public university operations and the adult learner market, thrives on building lasting relationships with UNC System Office leaders and prospective university partners, and has experience nurturing university and System relationships into formal partnerships that drive university and company growth. The role requires background experience in: - Higher education leadership to facilitate strategic and productive engagements at all levels of PKH’s current and prospective partner institutions, including senior university leadership. - Continuous improvement in university practice and process, including admissions, enrollment management, and student success. - Ability to distill key lessons from work with individual universities to inform University System policy, practice, and procurement. - Prospecting and account management to build relationships and nurture new partnerships. - Internal project and process management to strengthen relationships through transparent and replicable university engagements. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
