SDSN Youth
Role Description We are looking for a Project Officer to manage the operations and experience of our Local Pathways Fellows. This role falls under the Visibility & Engagement and Admin & Management, within the Local Pathways Fellowship team - in which there are 3 pillars: - Content & Training: Training and upskilling our fellows so that they are able to localize SDG 11 in their city. - Visibility & Engagement: Bringing together a peer-to-peer network of 240 young urban leaders and innovators that advance dialogue and demonstrates the potential to implement the New Urban Agenda in fellow cities. Increasing LPF´s visibility and ensuring that the voice of young people is heard in international fora. - Admin & Management: Ensure that the program is contributing to the key priority areas, targets and overall goals of SDSN Youth and manage the program operations. Ensures the longevity of LPF. Scale the program. Responsibilities - Fellow Engagement: - Work closely with Fellows to execute the peer-to-peer network operations. - Work closely with the Project Lead to better understand fellow's needs, in order to strengthen the peer-to-peer network across multiple cohorts, regions and areas of expertise. - Enable new effective tools that will foster further peer-to-peer engagements. - Work in a team to shape the peer-to-peer strategy, that provides an engaging experience for our members. - General Administration & Upkeep: - Execute the LPF program operations. - Maintaining and replying to queries directed to the LPF Program email. - Managing the administration of online platforms including GDrive, Workplace, and Airtable, etc. - Minuting and circulating the minutes of relevant internal team/external stakeholder meetings. - Ensuring that databases and mailing lists are kept up to date, including the LPF Master tracker, etc. - Manage LPF email. - Processes: - Working closely with the rest of the LPF Team to optimize the application process. - Assisting with the fellows applications and screening. - Manage the fellows registration and onboarding process. Please note: As a virtual network, it is IMPORTANT for Project Officers to communicate effectively with their Project Leader and report back consistently. In a network, which operates across several time zones, reporting and communicating proactively is crucial. Qualifications - Organized with impeccable communication and organizational skills. - Driven and able to work autonomously. - Some knowledge/interest in urban planning, urban environment, urban sustainability, urban tech or related fields. - Some volunteer or work experience in a role that requires managing operations, or membership. - Excellent organizational and leadership skills. - Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate and manage workload across several projects/teams. - Ability to communicate effectively and report consistently. - Responsive and able to manage regular communication with the team, including after-hours conference calls. - Aged between 18-30 in order to be eligible for this role (exceptions may apply). Requirements - Preferred qualifications include proven experience in sustainable development in urban environments. - Passionate about the mission of the SDSN, including the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on climate change. - Excellent command of the English language, including writing, speaking and listening. - Ability to demonstrate that they have the time and resources to commit to this role.
