Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with a data driven background in support of Combat Mission Systems, based out of York, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time remote opportunity supported most efficiently with candidates based along the east coast. In this role, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer investigates, evaluates, and resolves supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) conducts capability assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travels (driving, flying) up to 50% to assigned suppliers, and leads multiple projects to completion. This role is a self-starter, problem solver who utilizes analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. A strong communicator, the SQE ensures suppliers understand requirements and expectations, makes progress reports, and presents findings. The SQE utilizes supplier scorecards / metrics and analytical tools to quantify performance levels of individual suppliers and works with suppliers to develop improvement plans to achieve 100% quality performance. Included duties: - Evaluate the impact of nonconforming product and assess suppliers' corrective actions; - Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances; - Perform source inspection of product at supplier locations; - Perform and evaluate First Article Inspections per the requirements of AS9102 as well as train suppliers to meet BAE Systems' expectations; - Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base. Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Typically requires a Bachelors in an Engineering or Technical discipline with four (4) years related experience, or an Associates with six (6) years experience, or the overall equivalent; - Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality System; - Strong manufacturing experience with preferred APQP and PPAP knowledge; - Auditing experience; - Proven problem solving - Root cause / corrective actions; - Knowledgeable with engineering drawings / GD&T; - Highly effective communication and interactive skills; - Must be a motivated self-starter; - Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite; - Ability to travel up to 50% from a home-base along the east coast. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years related work experience in an Electrical Engineering, Electrical Manufacturing type role is preferred. - Expert level proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Business Objects, power BI would be a huge plus. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
