Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer – RHEL
E-Verify Program
• Design and develop complex infrastructure solutions across network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database technologies, ensuring technology currency and capacity alignment with SLAs. • Establish and maintain hardware and software performance standards while serving as the SME for emerging technologies and strategic vendor solutions. • Lead infrastructure design for major projects, collaborating with IT stakeholders, service owners, and vendors to ensure solutions align with architectural intent. • Ensure operational readiness through performance tuning, systems support, incident resolution, and planning and execution of software installations and upgrades. • Maintain standardized engineering procedures and contribute to broader architectural roadmaps, strategies, and standards. • Present new technologies to leadership and mentor junior team members to support capability growth and consistency across the team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 5+ years of experience in RHEL/Linux
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in RHEL/Linux
- Experience with Ansible or other automation
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite
- Experience with AWS and/or IBM AIX
- Understanding of Security hardening (CIS benchmarks, STIGs)
- Familiarity with network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware and database solutions

Role Description Salas O’Brien is seeking Mechanical Designer Team Lead, BIM/VDC Specialists to lead mechanical engineering design activities on major projects in the U.S. - Lead mechanical engineering design activities on major projects in the U.S. - Design, model, and simulate mechanical systems for hyperscale and AI data centers, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, cooling towers, chilled water systems, and boilers. - Prepare engineering calculations and detailed mechanical drawings. - Design highly energy-efficient and sustainable systems. - Create technical documentation for project execution, including design criteria and specifications. - Ensure project requirements are met in terms of scope, cost, and schedule. - Collaborate with architects and engineers to coordinate BIM models and resolve conflicts. - Review shop drawings for compliance with engineering codes and safety standards. - Develop and maintain project scope documentation and revisions. - Utilize BIM tools for virtual construction of mechanical systems and coordination with other disciplines. - Manage and coordinate projects, including on-site supervision. - Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress. - Utilize laser scanning technology to document installation states. - Position allows working 100% remotely from home in any U.S. State. - Position involves travel to various unanticipated project locations across the United States depending on project needs as often as twice per month.
