Structured Cable Design Engineer
Nebius Group
• Design and plan Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) for data center facilities. • Develop and maintain project documentation, including diagrams, drawings, and technical specifications. • Perform calculations for capacity, throughput, and compliance with applicable standards. • Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other specialized CAD software. • Collaborate and coordinate with engineers from related disciplines to ensure integrated solutions. • Monitor the quality and compliance of works against project documentation and established standards. • Participate in project controls and handovers, including conducting testing and certification of SCS. • Prepare detailed reports, as-built documentation, and technical conclusions. • Support the development of technical requirements for contractors and suppliers. • Be prepared for business trips to manage and oversee installation works on-site.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position within data centers or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of SCS design principles: copper and fiber optic lines, cross-connects, patch panels, and active equipment.
- Knowledge of industry standards.
- Proven experience in SCS projects from concept through implementation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, draw.io or similar design/visualization tools.
- Experience with calculation and testing software (e.g., Fluke Networks, Ekahau, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of related engineering systems: power supply, IT infrastructure, and security systems.
- Understanding of SCS certification and testing principles.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with clear technical communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and systems thinking.
- Presentation skills for technical solutions and reporting.

Role Description Orbital is seeking an Instrument & Controls Engineer to provide technical support and oversight for heavy industrial instrumentation projects. This is a fully remote opportunity. - Review client requests for proposals and scopes of work. - Act as Orbital representative at bid walkdowns. - Prepare manhour estimates and proposals. - Lead instrumentation project engineering and develop contractor construction packages including: - Instrument datasheets - P&IDs - Equipment plans - Cable/conduit routing plans - Interconnecting wiring diagrams - Loop diagrams - Scopes of work - Coordinate with other engineers and designers as required to execute the scope for larger projects. - Review calculations and deliverables for completeness and accuracy prior to issuance to client. - Support regional business development initiatives as a technical resource. - Drive internal and external quality and design review meetings throughout the course of the project. - Develop, maintain and upgrade technical standards/specifications to be used on specific projects. - Complete all tasks in accordance with design and project execution procedures and guidelines as set forth in corporate Quality Management System.
