Field Sales Representative, Canada

IDEXX

• Strive to exceed sales revenue targets for IDEXX Water products through regular on-site visits with customers performing microbiological water testing of drinking, raw, bottled, and other water sources • Collaborate and "co-sell" with other IDEXX sales professionals in the region to close capital equipment and technology deals • Travel regularly to meet customers and demonstrate the value of IDEXX products • Grow the business year-over-year by acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts • Demonstrate a proven track record of closing sales and meeting quarterly sales targets • Schedule prospect calls, presentations, and training sessions • Work in partnership with inside sales colleagues • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of field sales experience with a proven record of closing sales of consumables and equipment
  • Prior experience with corporate accounts preferred
  • Ability to prioritize activities and work independently in the field with limited supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet quarterly targets
  • Ability to sell on product value rather than price
  • Ability to understand technical products and/or technical issues
  • Comfortable engaging a diverse range of end users in public and private laboratories, wastewater treatment facilities, and large corporations
  • Strong sales analysis and forecasting skills
  • Experience overcoming objections and closing accounts
  • Clear and concise communicator
  • Must be self-managed, self-motivated, and extremely well organized
  • Demonstrated team-player aptitude
  • Candidate must reside in Canada, preferably in the Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal area
  • Candidates must live near a major airport
  • Extensive travel — approximately 60% primarily by air with some car travel.
