What You’ll Do - Own system installs & commissioning — set up advanced microscopy platforms and train users to hit the ground running. - Keep systems at peak performance — deliver expert preventive and corrective maintenance. - Troubleshoot like a pro — dig deep into hardware/software issues and resolve them fast, onsite or remotely. - Build strong customer relationships — deliver confident communication, clear training, and dependable support. - Upgrade & optimize systems — calibrate components and implement performance‑boosting enhancements. What You Bring - Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science, or similar. - 3–5 years of field service experience with microscopy or analytical instruments. - Skilled with multimeters, oscilloscopes, schematics, and Windows systems. - Physically capable of working in tight spaces and lifting up to 50 lbs. - Valid driver’s license, passport, and willingness to travel Monday–Friday. Bonus Points For - Hands-on experience with AFM, SEM, fluorescence, or confocal microscopy. - Strong workflow understanding of imaging software and calibration. - Clean, methodical work habits and a love for continuous learning. This is a remote, field-based role where you will independently manage service tickets, travel to customer sites, and ensure gaming systems are installed, maintained, and operating efficiently. Responsibilities: - Supervising the day-to-day activities of Ameresco’s electrical team of in-house and subcontractor electrical technicians across the United States. - Liaising between Customers, Engineers, Manufacturers, and Field Employees. - Technical Support for field technicians repairing, testing, troubleshooting, inspecting, installing, removing, and maintaining solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment. - Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all tools, equipment and materials needed projects. - Providing leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties. - Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to - Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public - Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician - Complete written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed - Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures - Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED. - Minimum of 5 years of PV Solar Operations and Maintenance Experience. - At Minimum, Journeyman's Electrical License - Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence. Additional Qualifications: - Proven experience supervising field operations. - Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to work in numerous Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). - The ability to work in different environmental conditions. - Strong leadership and communication skills. - Excellent customer service skills. - Two years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment. - Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits. - Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements. - OSHA training and certification preferred. - Flexibility for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000–$134,000 (presented in good faith).
