• Accounts Payable: Accurately review and process vendor invoices on time, manage internal team approval requests, and ensure timely payments are scheduled. • Journal Entries: Record payroll, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other recurring data-entry activities. • Reconciliations: Support monthly reconciliations and help maintain clean, accurate books. • Transaction Categorization: Import and categorize expenses across accounts. • Monthly Close Support: Assist the Finance team with close activities, reporting, and tax support. • Process Improvement: Once you're settled in, identify opportunities to improve or automate operational workflows and bring those ideas to the table.
Job Requirements
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Accounting
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), including accruals, prepaids, and journal entries; experience with invoice processing, reconciliations or month-end close is a plus
- Strong Excel skills, you use it every day without thinking twice
- Detail-oriented and organized, you catch mistakes before they become problems
- Proactive and eager to learn, you don't wait to be told what to do next
- English proficiency is a must
- Experience with accounting tools like QuickBooks is a bonus, but not required

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY The Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant will report to the Accounts Receivable Manager. DUTIES - Perform all accounting tasks pertaining to assigned properties, including preparing commercial billing, sending tenant statements, posting leases, posting receipts, preparing waiver of late fees and reversal of charges, preparing billback to tenants, processing and posting tenant move-outs, updating the rent roll due to change in unit size or number, ensuring that we have on file the tenants’ current certificates of insurance (COI), posting of property management reports for commercial and office suites, and managing relationships with tenants and property management companies, if applicable. - Follow up and work with asset and property managers to collect delinquent accounts. - Conduct accounting processes related to property acquisition/disposition. - Prepare sales tax forms and submit payment for processing. - Prepare reports for the accounting team management, as assigned. - Complete other projects and tasks assigned by accounting management. • Select and build out our accounting infrastructure. • Lead the migration of bookkeeping records from an external provider to an in-house system, encompassing data migration, process mapping, internal controls implementation and user training. • Maintain accurate general ledger activity for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities (journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, depreciation schedule) • Conduct monthly and year-end close: accruals, prepaid/deferral schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, variance support • Manage and process accounts payable and employee reimbursements; ensure proper coding to entity, program, and function • Manage accounts receivable and cash receipts (donations, sponsorships, membership revenue, invoices) • Track and reconcile restricted and unrestricted funds (as applicable), including grant budgets and reporting support • Implement intercompany / inter-entity allocations (shared costs, payroll allocations, vendor splits) and maintain documentation • Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audit/review • Prepare various compliance and transparency documentation including Form 990, 5500, BRA-25, 1042-S (in coordination with external tax preparers where relevant) • Assist with functional expense reporting (Program, Management & General, Fundraising) and documentation • Support payroll accounting (posting payroll entries, benefits, taxes) and related reconciliations • Maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting workflows (policies, approvals, documentation)
