Software Development Manager

• Lead a talented engineering team dedicated to advancing AI-driven software products in the defense sector. • Oversee software development projects from conception through deployment, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet stringent regulatory and performance standards. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, AI researchers, and hardware engineers to drive innovation and maintain agile development practices within the team. • Mentor engineers, managing resources and schedules, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the software organization.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong background in full software development lifecycle management in regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, or similar sectors
  • Experience managing teams of software engineers and coordinating cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in AI and embedded systems (e.g., Python, C++, Java)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on mission-critical products
  • Preferred
  • Experience working within defense or government contracting environments
  • Knowledge of AI, computer vision, or autonomous systems development
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Understanding of compliance requirements such as ITAR and cybersecurity standards
  • Experience with distributed or international engineering teams
