Senior Legal Counsel

- Provide legal advice and support for existing business models (website and apps) as well as new ones. - Managing legal and compliance matters to ensure the achievement of commercial objectives while minimizing risks. - Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Prepare and review NDA’s, agreements, legal texts as well as other documents to help and support the business growth and expansion. - Proven experience in the design and implementation of compliance and ethics frameworks, including internal reporting channels (whistleblowing), codes of conduct and training programs, able to advise, oversee and quality-check these processes within the organization. - Ensure through cooperation with the Security team the proper compliance in terms of data protection and privacy (GDPR, LSSI, LOPGDDD, RIA). - Lead the development and enforcement of internal compliance policies, risk assessments and ethics guidelines aligned with regulatory requirements. - Collaborate in the process of trademark registration of the different projects of the company and ensure compliance with Intellectual Property and legal defense of the company's rights. - Ensure adequate response to inquiries from regulatory authorities and/or third parties concerning the Company’s operation in different market niches.
Job Requirements
- Your expertise in a nutshell:
- Degree in Law and proven experience (no less than 5 years) in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Strong background in compliance, ethics and data protection (GDPR, LOPGDDD, RIA/AI Act), with additional knowledge of digital business, IP and software contracting.
- Demonstrated experience managing regulatory inspections, audits or interactions with data protection authorities (AEPD or equivalent).
- Strategic vision. Excellent ability to analyze and assess processes, spot issues and propose/implement solutions to effectively support business strategies.
- Communicate and negotiate with external third parties (partners, providers, lawyers, public bodies, among others).
- Proactivity and ability to accomplish business goals and mitigate risks.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Valuable knowledge:
- Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) frameworks.
- Knowledge of the EU AI Act and its compliance implications for tech products
- Knowledge of international laws and regulations related to corporate matters (e.g. US/China).
- Desired skills:
- Effective communication with non-legal stakeholders, such as marketing, product or IT.
- Familiarity with document management in cloud environments (Google Drive).
- Pragmatic, business-oriented approach.
- Adaptability to planned or unplanned changes.

Role Description GPM Investments, LLC is hiring its first in-house litigator to build and own the company's litigation function. Joining an eight-attorney legal team, this attorney will manage a diverse portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including: - Active case handling - Outside counsel oversight - Discovery management - Subpoena compliance - Debt collection This position is remote-eligible with a hybrid arrangement available for candidates near GPM’s Richmond, VA or Dallas, TX offices. The title (Litigation Counsel or Senior Litigation Counsel) will depend on the candidate's experience. This position will report to the General Counsel or a Deputy General Counsel.
