• Analyze requirements, test functionality, and identify defects and edge cases • Own investigation of complex customer issues through L3 support, driving root cause resolution • Validate third-party API integrations across testing and production environments • Partner with engineering and product to resolve issues and improve system reliability • Improve QA practices and elevate debugging and investigation standards • Support releases and ensure stable rollouts with active post-release follow-up
Job Requirements
- Strong experience with manual testing and end-to-end validation
- Experience in investigating customer issues and performing root cause analysis
- Experience in API testing (working with docs + real behavior, identifying inconsistencies)
- Experience in building and improving QA processes
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including log analysis (CloudWatch, Logs Explorer)
- Good understanding of networks, HTTP, APIs, and web/client architectures
- Experience with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Experience using AI tools for workflow optimization
- Ability to translate technical concepts for different audiences (engineering ↔ non-technical)
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Structured, detail-oriented approach
- Fluent English (written and spoken)

YOUR TEAM Our team is looking for motivated support in the automated verification and validation of vehicle electronic control units within the overall vehicle network. This internship focuses on a new generation Connectivity Control Unit that is currently under development and represents a key element of future connected vehicles. The control unit connects the vehicle to its environment and enables numerous customer-facing and safety-relevant functions. We are part of a central project management organization responsible for coordinating and safeguarding multiple networked ECUs across the Volkswagen Group. In this role, you will contribute hands-on to an existing end-to-end test automation environment used to validate high-level customer functions, track functional maturity, and perform regression testing throughout the development process. A key aspect of the internship is the further evolution of test automation by integrating AI-based components. Due to the large and continuously changing function portfolio, automated and adaptive test case generation is required to ensure efficient and scalable test coverage. This position offers practical insight into automotive software development, test automation, connectivity systems, and the application of artificial intelligence in a real-world development environment. What you will do: You will participate with UBIX team in mid-long-term projects including: - Migration of automated test assets from UFT (Unified Functional Testing) to SAFAL. - Design, maintain, and improve test automation frameworks (Cucumber & Cypress). - Integrated automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. - Collaborate with all different product teams (QA, BA, CX, Project Management).
