The role has a heavy modelling focus and is required to work in close collaboration with technical subject matter experts across the IPP Solutions Team. Day-to-day activities will involve undertaking a range of analytical tasks to ensure the team has access to the most accurate information for decision-making, not limited to customers’ electricity consumption profiles, power generation operating costs, performance of solar farms, counterparty risk, and country risks. What you’ll do - Provide on-going project-based techno-economic modelling for new opportunities - Perform system simulations and modelling of hybrid projects based on specified customer requirements - Support Energy Analytics Manager in leading technical discussions and providing strategic modelling insights to clients - Conduct in-depth research on policy impacts, market developments, and emerging technologies - Manage all aspects of modelling for project lifecycles, from scoping to delivery, ensuring cross-functional functions receive the analytical support to achieve customer success - Guide junior analysts and provide mentorship in modelling best practices - Provide ongoing analysis and recommendations in relation to research undertaken regarding country risk, political risk, currency, tax treatments, special renewable energy financing opportunities or initiatives to assist with the evaluation and pricing of opportunities - Provide ongoing updates and improvements to all Excel based models - Provide recommendations to improve the availability, quality, reliability, and security of data including assisting with data management and documentation/version control, etc To thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience: - Tertiary qualification in Economics, Data Science or Engineering with experience in data analytics relating to the renewables or solar power industries - Possess extensive experience in a similar role as a Senior Energy Analysis and have the seniority to be self sufficient and look after projects independently - Experience providing all aspects of modelling for hybrid power project lifecycles and providing strategic modelling insights - Experience identifying risks and opportunities related to renewable or solar power production assets to assist our IPP team with pricing and bid opportunities - Be able to formulate long horizon views extrapolated from our solar data and technology advancements - Ideally come from a utilities or IPP power generation background If you're ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role in a dynamic environment, apply now to be a part of our dedicated team at Aggreko. As part of its work on accelerating progress on the SDGs, UNDP is committed to working with partners to achieve the health-related SDGs specifically aimed to address the sector gap in research and development (R&D) funding for new global health technologies through our partnership with the Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund. Duties and Responsibilities The position will be home-based. The Technical Officer will report to the Programme Manager, Access and Delivery Partnership, BPPS (P4). Under the overall guidance and supervision of Programme Specialist, HIV and Health Group, UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, the incumbent will support M&E, research and programme planning to facilitate effective implementation of the ADP project.
