About the Role We are seeking a VP of Field Engineering to lead a global team of Technical Consultants, Migration Engineers, and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) responsible for executing complex customer implementations post-sale. This team sits at the intersection of Professional Services, Product, and Partner Delivery, ensuring that customers, whether delivered internally or via partners, are successfully deployed and scaled on Nue. This role is critical to enabling a partner-led delivery model, where Field Engineering provides the deep technical expertise, tooling, and oversight required to ensure high-quality, scalable implementations across both internal and partner-led engagements. This is a hands-on execution leadership role, requiring deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, CPQ, Billing, and Quote-to-Cash systems. This role is expected to actively leverage AI tools, automation, and emerging agent-based workflows to drive productivity, improve decision-making, and scale impact. This includes using AI to accelerate problem solving, enhance team output, streamline operations, and identify opportunities for automation across delivery and execution. What You’ll Do Own Post-Sales Technical Execution - Own the technical success of all customer implementations post-sale - Ensure: - High-quality, scalable deployments - On-time, on-budget execution - Strong technical outcomes across all engagements - Act as escalation point for: - Complex technical challenges - At-risk implementations - Accountable for: - Implementation success - Technical quality of deployments - Reduction in escalations and rework Lead Field Engineering Organization - Build and scale a global team of: - Technical Consultants - Migration Engineers - Forward Deployed Engineers - Establish hiring standards, training programs, career paths - Salesforce Platform & Technical Leadership - Serve as a hands-on leader in: - Salesforce platform architecture (Apex, data model, integrations) - CPQ + Billing implementations on Salesforce - Integrations with ERP, Tax Services and other 3rd Party systems - Ensure all solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product best practices - This role requires building and reviewing solutions on Salesforce, not just overseeing them Forward Deployed Engineering - Oversee FDE team responsible for solving complex, non-standard implementation challenges, and building custom extensions, integrations, and automation - Ensure FDE work unblocks delivery, is reusable where possible, and feeds back into product improvements Migration & Data Execution - Own data migration strategy and execution for CPQ, billing, subscriptions, historical data - Reduce implementation risk and time-to-go-live Partner Delivery Enablement - Enable partners to successfully deliver implementations by: - Providing technical guidance, playbooks, and architectures - Supporting partner-led deployments on complex projects - Acting as escalation layer for partner delivery issues - Define and enforce: - Technical standards for partner implementations - Certification and readiness requirements Operational Excellence & Scale - Own key execution metrics: - Time-to-implement - Implementation success rate - Escalation rate - Rework / defect rate - Partner delivery quality metrics - Standardize on Implementation architectures, Technical playbooks and Migration frameworks - Utilize AI tools and agent-based workflows to accelerate debugging, solution development, and customer issue resolution.
