Job Description Summary The Lead Software Engineer utilizes web and cloud technologies, APIs, and third party software development frameworks to build and support application solutions. Provides lead support for design and development to one or more application development teams, and leads a team of local or outsourced software engineers to build and support business application solutions. Job Description Responsibilities - Work collaboratively with other development staff, including contract and offshore Software Engineers, and business product owners in an agile environment. - Code, test, identify, implement, and document solutions to business challenges utilizing web and cloud technologies. - Perform design and analysis for deliverables. Lead large team design sessions for system level architecture solutions. - Serve as a subject matter expert for a wide range of areas, applications, and technologies; mentor other team members in design/coding standards. - Recommend solutions which take into consideration costs, business needs, and system impacts. - Lead analysis and general architectural design across platforms toward the development of end-to-end solutions. - Participate on committees or projects to help define organization-wide standards, processes, and guidelines. - Utilize third-party software development frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs to rapidly develop basic application solutions. - Lead web development staff, including contract and off-shore developers; may have supervisory responsibility over employees. - Learn and keep pace with the latest advances in the field and rapidly grasp new technologies to support the environment and contribute to project deliverables. - Prepare presentations and lead development meetings. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion. • Provide general product information to customers making inquiries via phone and email. • Meet production goals as outlined in the training program, including monthly activity, client appointments, and new accounts. • Explain and ensure customers understand product options for routine inquiries; educate and make recommendations when appropriate for Brokerage Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA). • Learn all systems and products, including applicable regulations and compliance guidelines. • Complete training and development programs to prepare for licensing. • Learn financial planning concepts, tools, and compliance requirements. • Document activities in Salesforce and other customer relationship management (CRM) systems as required. • Engage in skill-building activities and mentorship aimed at progressing into fully licensed advisor roles. • Provide operational and administrative support to the Advice Center sales team.
• Oversee the onboarding of new plan sponsor retirement plans and the conversion of existing plans from other providers. • Provide customized service and communications throughout the installation process to ensure deliverables are met. • Manage relationships with plan sponsors, financial advisors, third party administrators, and associated stakeholders. • Transition Manage the installation of defined contribution retirement plans, during start up or conversion, for single employer and multiple employer plans. • Analyze deliverable dates and timetables to create detailed project plans encompassing all aspects of the installation. • Evaluate timelines for liquidation of investments and receipt of plan data from prior providers in consideration of SOX blackout and plan effective dates. • Determine education options and delivery methods best suited for plan sponsors and participants, and coordinate with trainers to initiate. • Manage transition of funds out of blackout to the service team within set timetable. • Initiate extension notices if needed. • Delegate and monitor record keeping setup, asset transfer, allocation, and first deposits, including the education, integration, and mapping of payroll files/methods. • Ensure plan set up consultants prepare documents related to plans and contracts, including employee disclosure material required to establish a new retirement plan. • Create and ensure regulatory notices are accurate and distributed to participants on time. • Conduct consultative discussions for plan reviews and assist plan sponsors with compliance questions related to plan design. • Serve as primary plan sponsor contact during the installation process to ensure all aspects of the transition process meet client expectations. • Analyze data, conversion, payroll, and census files received from the client to assess the accuracy and consistency of information. • Notify the plan sponsor and internal/external contacts of issues that may impact the success of the transition. • Plan and execute internal and external communications with plan sponsors, financial advisors and third-party administrators based on client preferences and culture. • Manage relationships with internal partners, sales executives, plan sponsors contacts, financial advisors and third parties throughout the installation process to ensure deliverables are met. • Confirm the accuracy and delivery of enrollment materials to participants once plans are in place.
• Manage an assigned book of business through proactive meetings and touch points with advisors and clients, including annual plan reviews. • Provide strategic and tactical consulting to support client goals for qualified retirement plans. • Cross-sell additional products and services using a consultative approach to deepen relationships and improve profitability. • Serve as the primary escalation point for service-related issues by identifying root causes and coordinating resolution through appropriate resources. • Consult with clients and advisors on qualified plan design and interpret plan provisions to support desired outcomes. • Consult on plan enhancements and upgrades, including conversion of legacy investment contracts to newer products. • Communicate product, service, and investment enhancements, including new offerings and changes to existing solutions. • Educate clients on company processes, procedures, systems, and technology used by participants and plan sponsors. • Manage special projects as assigned.
