This role blends product marketing, demand generation, external communications, brand stewardship, and strategic planning to accelerate pipeline, enhance IET’s positioning & external profile, and strengthen commercial readiness. The successful candidate will translate complex IET technologies into compelling value propositions, partner across the Brand Marketing & External Comms (BMEC) team with the Centres of Experience (CoEs) & regional teams to deliver high-impact integrated campaigns, increase external awareness, strengthen positioning of the segment and ensure brand consistency across activity. This leader partners closely with stakeholders within the business as well as across the BMEC CoE & Employee Communications teams to deliver measurable commercial and reputational impact. The role in summary: - Strategic external communications and marketing partner to the Energy Equipment business unit within IET, that encompasses gas, LNG, new energies, and power solutions for energy and industrial customers. - Translates business priorities into integrated communications and marketing strategies for the business unit. - Collaborates closely with the Centers of Experiences to deliver measurable business and reputational outcomes, providing inputs and strategic advice. - Focuses on strategy, integration, prioritization, and performance Strategy - Partner with IET business unit’s leadership, Strategy, Sales, and Technology to align BMEC strategies aligned to segment growth priorities. - Provide strategic counsel to Business Unit’s Leadership on best practices, customer and audience led strategies to inform and evolve marketing & comms activities - Support campaign & activity prioritization, including pipeline target setting, and marketing resource allocation in collaboration with CoE teams - Product Marketing & Demand Generation - Translate segment growth priorities into integrated multi-channel campaigns (ABM, nurture, paid media, digital, webinars/events) in collaboration with the CoE - Lead go-to-market planning for product and solution launches, partnering closely with the CoE teams on strategy, best practice and timing - Develop clear, differentiated product and solution-level value propositions, messaging frameworks, and competitive narratives across the segment portfolio. - Build buyer personas and endtoend buyer journeys for IET customers in partnership with product management and technology teams, as well as the Commercial and Technology Marketing CoE. - Develop campaign briefs and orchestrate delivery with BMEC CoE and regional teams. - Ensure alignment between campaign messaging, business unit’s priorities, and enterprise narrative. - Partner with CoE on ongoing testing, optimization, and data-led improvements across campaigns and activities. External Communications & PR - Define, maintain, and activate the IET external narrative aligned with enterprise brand strategy. - Support PR CoE with content & insights that enable the building and nurturing of relationships with tier-1 media, trade outlets, and industry influencers. - Develop proactive earned and owned story pipelines—technology milestones, customer value stories, partnerships, sustainability impacts – partnering with PR CoE to activate - Support development of case studies, customer references, thought leadership materials, and signature IET stories. - Support BMEC & business leadership in segment specific issues/crisis communications - Shape executive visibility for segment leaders in partnership with CoE - Metrics, Performance & Insights - Establish campaign, content, and communications KPIs (including MQL→SQL performance, SOV, sentiment, and engagement) in partnership with CoE - Leverage COE dashboards and cadence reviews to track demand generation ROI, attribution, and pipeline impact. - Analyse content performance, launch effectiveness, message recall, and sales enablement adoption, leveraging insights to improve future activities. - Provide insights and recommendations to refine value propositions, go to market plans, and communications strategies. Metrics, Performance & Insights - Establish campaign, content, and communications KPIs (including MQL→SQL performance, SOV, sentiment, and engagement) in partnership with CoE - Leverage COE dashboards and cadence reviews to track demand generation ROI, attribution, and pipeline impact. - Analyse content performance, launch effectiveness, message recall, and sales enablement adoption, leveraging insights to improve future activities. - Provide insights and recommendations to refine value propositions, go to market plans, and communications strategies. Brand & Content Governance - Ensure consistency of brand, tone, and messaging across all content, campaigns, media, analyst materials, and sales enablement assets. - Partner with CoE content, marketing and creative teams to manage editorial calendars, content quality, and adherence to accessibility and brand standards. - Maintain governance processes for asset creation, creative reviews, and content prioritization.
