What you can expect As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and implement critical processes for a subscription-based billing system. You will partner with cross-functional teams including e-commerce, Salesforce, Oracle, Zuora, and Data Engineering to architect scalable solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of PL/SQL and relational databases, along with the eagerness to explore and learn new technologies across the ecosystem. This role involves building SaaS and subscription business models while working with both closed platforms and open, cloud-native technologies. What we’re looking for - 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Relational and non-Relational Databases. - Demonstrate expert-level SQL skills for querying, manipulating data, data aggregation, filtering and sorting, window functions and common table expressions (CTEs). - Be open to working within a closed-stack system built on the Zuora Platform, supporting customer subscription and billing journey management for SaaS products. Hands-on experience with the Zuora platform is preferred. - Show working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, Freemarker and Liquid scripting is an advantage. Experience with any RDBMS such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Snowflake is required. - Demonstrate familiarity with DevOps processes and agile methodologies to support continuous integration and development practices. - Demonstrate adoption of AI-assisted tools to boost developer productivity, quality, and operational efficiency, delivering measurable business impact in revenue uplift, cost reduction, or faster time-to-market. • Focus on understanding system behavior across multiple layers, identifying performance bottlenecks, and driving improvements that shape how our clusters are built, operated, tuned, and validated. • Investigate and troubleshoot performance issues of GPU cluster under real workloads (training and inference). • Evaluate and integrate new hardware, system configurations and tuning approaches through software stack. • Support complex performance-related escalations from internal teams and customers. • Work closely with infrastructure, software engineering and hardware vendor teams (e.g. NVIDIA, Mellanox, Intel). • Contribute to hardware and cluster qualification (acceptance), ensuring systems meet performance expectations.

• Develops and tracks metrics related to supplier performance and Ciena customer deliverables • Ensure effective communication with project teams and leadership on project commitments • Works with PLM to ensure forecast for new products are implemented as part of every product launch
