Description We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to support the development of a semantic modeling and metrics layer powering analytics across Data Cloud and Tableau. This role sits between Data Engineering and Product Analytics and focuses on enabling trusted, reusable, and business‑ready data for dashboards, AI insights, and downstream analytics. This role is not primarily dashboard‑focused. Instead, you will contribute to the design and maintenance of semantic models, metric definitions, and relationships that allow product and business teams to self‑serve analytics with confidence. Responsibilities: Semantic Modeling & Metrics - Contribute to the design and maintenance of semantic models and governed metrics - Translate curated data objects into business‑ready dimensions and KPIs - Help define and document metric logic, calculations, and definitions for reuse - Support consistency of metrics across dashboards and analytics use cases Data Modeling & Relationships - Assist with configuring and validating relationships between modeled data objects - Review and validate AI‑suggested or automated relationships for analytical correctness - Collaborate with data and product teams to align on modeling conventions Governance & Documentation - Support governance practices for the semantic layer to ensure data consistency and reuse - Help document business logic, metric definitions, and modeling patterns - Partner with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams as requirements evolve Platform Growth - Learn and stay current with Tableau‑related modeling and semantic capabilities - Follow and contribute to best practices as analytics platforms evolve Must Haves: - Experience with Tableau, including work with shared or published data sources - Understanding of semantic layer concepts (centralized definitions, reusable metrics, consistent logic) - Familiarity working with data modeling concepts beyond visualization (metrics, joins, business logic) - Strong data literacy and curiosity about how analytics impacts business decisions Nice to have: - Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) concepts, including: - Data Model Objects (DMOs) - Data Lake Objects (DLOs) - Calculated Insights (CIOs) - Familiarity with Tableau Semantics, Tableau Next concepts, or semantic modeling tools - Interest in governed analytics or AI‑assisted modeling platforms - Background as an Analytics Engineer (dbt-style mindset), NOT just a dashboard developer Notes on the position: - This posting is for an existing vacancy. In this key role, you'll be instrumental in overseeing all analytic and reporting needs, contributing directly to the success of every domain within Financial Services.
