Procurement Specialist

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of technology-related procurements within a public sector environment. This role will focus on managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with applicable trade agreements and policies, and supporting project teams in achieving procurement objectives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to plan, execute, and manage procurement activities in a transparent, fair, and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities - Develop procurement and contracting documentation aligned with project and business objectives - Lead and manage procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and other sourcing activities - Prepare and present procurement deliverables to internal stakeholders, committees, and leadership teams - Manage procurement activities across multiple projects and support project governance - Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define procurement strategies, timelines, and requirements - Monitor and report on procurement progress, milestones, risks, and budgets - Support project planning, including resource estimation and scheduling related to procurement tasks - Provide guidance to project teams on procurement processes, priorities, and best practices - Assist with contract negotiations, vendor evaluations, and debriefings - Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations, policies, and trade agreements Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Public Administration, or a related field - Proven experience leading procurement processes (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and similar) - Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing vendor contracts in complex environments - Strong experience providing procurement guidance to internal stakeholders and leadership - Experience working within Canadian public sector procurement frameworks - Knowledge and application of trade agreements such as NWPTA, CETA, CFTA, and/or CUSMA - Professional certification such as SCMP, CPPO, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting digital transformation, modernization, or cloud-based initiatives - Ability to evaluate cost models, pricing structures, and contract risks - Experience procuring technology solutions such as software, hardware, cloud services, or cybersecurity tools Skills & Competencies - Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and contract management - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills - Proficiency with procurement systems and standard business tools Work Environment - Remote work environment (must reside in Alberta) - Collaborative, project-based setting with cross-functional teams - Fast-paced environment requiring strong time management and prioritization Contact Information For more details reach at vgill@navitassols.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1203.
