We partner across the company to ensure the accuracy and transparency of our financial operations while building scalable processes that support Thumbtack's growth. We are also embracing an AI-first approach, rethinking how a modern finance team operates at the intersection of data, technology, and strategic decision-making. About the Role As a Finance Systems Senior Manager, you will be the strategist and subject matter expert across Thumbtack’s financial systems ecosystem. You'll lead the strategy and deployment of finance tools, integrations, AI-powered solutions and workflow automation that transform how the finance organization operates and the tech stack it uses, while partnering to improve data architecture and governance. You will also shape how financial planning, forecasting, and reporting are executed at scale by enabling systems and data that drive faster, higher-quality decision-making. You will also drive the deployment of AI solutions across the CFO Org. Your work will directly reduce manual data wrangling, accelerate leadership decision-making, and enable the finance team to operate more strategically. What you'll do - Own the strategy for Finance systems including Adaptive Insights (EPM), NetSuite (ERP), Navan (T&E), Coupa/Ironclad/Omnea (Procurement), Workiva (Fin Rptg & IC), Avalara (Sales Tax), FloQast (Close & Recons), DMS (Escheatment), Carta (Equity), and partner cross-functionally with adjacent system owners. - Translate finance workflows (close, FP&A, audit, reporting) into AI-enabled processes: map data flows, identify high-ROI automation opportunities (e.g., variance analysis, reconciliations, anomaly detection). - Design and deploy AI-powered finance solutions (forecasting support, reconciliation agents, reporting) that improve accuracy, cycle time, and decision quality. - Partner with Internal Tools to drive the configuration and optimization of these Finance systems, and the implementation of successor systems; serve as the interface between Finance and Internal Tools regarding systems roadmap. - Serve as the interface between Finance and Data Engineering, ensuring the integrity, completeness, and governance of financial data flowing into planning and reporting systems. - Enable leadership decision-making by building scalable reporting infrastructure and self-service analytics that translate financial data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders. In order to be successful, you must bring - 10+ years of experience working at the intersection of finance and technology, with hands-on ownership of financial planning, ERP, or related platforms. - Experience applying AI automation within finance/accounting workflows (close, FP&A, reporting, controls), not just general-purpose AI use cases. - Demonstrated expertise in financial data architecture and how they translate into AI-ready datasets, including ETL processes, data governance, and building reliable data pipelines between source systems and planning tools. - Practical understanding of governance frameworks (human-in-the-loop, auditability, SOX compliance). - Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations, serving as a bridge between finance stakeholders and technical teams. - Track record of delivering reporting and analytics solutions that replace manual, spreadsheet-based processes with scalable, self-service platforms. - Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, with experience collaborating across Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and vendor teams to manage a portfolio of systems projects. - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and develop training materials for system end-users. Expected salary ranges - For candidates living in Ontario and British Columbia, the expected salary range for the role is currently $159,800.00 - $206,800.00. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
