Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to analyze, diagnose and resolve issues with complex engineering systems used to modernize or upgrade existing systems. The position is responsible for the functionality and compatibility of systems in both test and production environments. The candidate must demonstrate a strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and regular operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience with System Administration and support and have a proven track record of ensuring applications stability, performance, and security, while driving process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Experience as a systems administrator including management, maintenance, configuration, and optimization in a high-availability environment. Experience in following processes and procedures to standardize Application installations and configuration, ensuring consistency and best practices. Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell scripting or other scripting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy. Strong experience with UNIX environments including Red Hat Linux operating systems. UNIX scripting skills to automate compliance controls and other maintenance activity. Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, with a "can-do" attitude and a resourceful approach to problem-solving. Willingness to participate in rotational 24 x 7 on-call Production support, ensuring timely resolution of production issues.
