Job Summary: This position is responsible for processing orders, preparing correspondence, and fulfilling customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction. Essential Functions: * Understands basic administrative functions of Customer Service area * Able to handle routine customer calls and appropriately escalates complex issues to the next level of management * Must be able to research customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner. * Communicating courteously with customers by telephone, e-mail and face-to-face; * Investigating and solving customers' problems (these may be more complex or long-standing problems) * Producing documentation/written information for customers when requested * All other tasks as required Scope and Accountability: * Completes tasks that are generally routine. Applies basic technical and procedural knowledge; some formal training or experience is required to perform the job effectively. Follows detailed and defined rules/instructions and applies simple judgment to solve problems. * Completes tasks by following pre-established procedures. For personnel handling products regulated by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), additional accountabilities and responsibilities are outlined in training requirement documents Qualification Requirements: Knowledge: HS Diploma or equivalent Skills: * Understands basic administrative functions of Customer Service area * Able to handle routine customer calls and appropriately escalate issues to the proper management level for timely resolution * All other tasks as required. * Professional telephone skills * Able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment * Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills * Microsoft Office Word, Excel Experience: 0-2 years professional experience Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Role Description As a member of the Services & Solutions Team, this role plays a key part in the delivery of Technical Solutions in the Americas. Technical Solutions supports our customers throughout the lifecycle of their projects, with both self-help and live support. Our services range from basic product selection to consultation and design. Through close collaboration with Product and Supplier Management, the team also contributes to stronger supplier relationships by establishing confidence in RS’s technical competence and solution capability. Responsibilities - Product applications & support - Provide product specific answers to questions escalated to Technical Support through a variety of channels including the ticketing system, customer support, phone, email, chat, etc. - Product selection based on specifications - Competitive cross-reference - Product questions - For pneumatic and mechanical components, perform sizing calculations using digital sizing tools and/or Excel. - Seek to understand the customer’s application and investigate opportunities to provide a solution rather than a single part - Ensure support cases are properly documented in the Service Desk applications - KPIs, Continuous Improvement, & Operational Efficiency - Monitor personal performance metrics including case volumes, SLA, revenue attribution, and customer engagement.
