Role Description At the ETH spin-off Lightly, we build software solutions to help companies improve their deep learning models. The available data for deep learning grows faster than human tagging and available compute power. Our customers already face this problem and have too much data to process. As a solution, we built software to identify and work with the most relevant samples only. We are a team of talented developers and researchers in Zurich and are backed by YCombinator. Every member of the team is going to have a massive impact. Thus, we are looking for an experienced engineer with lots of passion for the subject. We use a modern stack of: - Typescript, React, NodeJS, Python - Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Terraform, MongoDB Experience in Svelte is a plus. As a (senior) full-stack engineer, you are working directly with our core product. Your responsibilities will include building, improving, and deploying our software. Particularly, you will get to: - Design and implement new features across the stack. - Build parts of the software stack, mostly on the DB and API side. - Design and implement the architecture and infrastructure with a focus on high performance and scalability when handling millions of data points. - Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounter. - Research and implement new technologies and solutions. Qualifications - At least 5 years of experience in building, managing, and deploying applications into big infrastructures. - Knowledge of software engineering, design, and deployment best practices. - Experience with building and shipping software solutions. - A strong passion for new technologies and interest in keeping up with the latest technologies. - A creative, collaborative, and product-focused mindset. - Excellent coding skills in TypeScript, NodeJS, and Python. Senior Transmission Line Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer who will work as a member of a dynamic team working in a fast paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as an Engineer on electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country. This person will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects. Additionally, he/she will perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents. The primary responsibilities of this role are: strategic analysis of the interconnection procedures, queue and transmission system in a given RTO/ISO to formulate and steer greenfield project siting, and to then prepare and manage interconnection requests through to an Interconnection Agreement with the most favorable terms possible. The Interconnection Project Engineer supports the Interconnection (IC) Regional Lead on progressing projects through the interconnection process and working cross functionally with the broader Development Team to optimize the position throughout the development lifecycle. The preferred candidate has experience in: the preparation and review of interconnection requests; review and management of PSS/E and/or PSLF models; and participating in the management of solar and wind projects through the generator interconnection processes including negotiation and execution of Generator Interconnection Agreements. Additional responsibilities include monitoring the progress of required system upgrades and identifying creative mitigation solutions when needed within the applicable open access transmission tariff. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The Interconnection Project Engineer will support and lead when necessary, all interconnection activities through the full life cycle of development and construction of projects.
