Role Description The AI Bioinformatics Engineering Lead will sit within the AI team and collaborate closely with backend engineering, bioinformatics, and product leaders to shape how genomic data is evaluated and validated. Your success will be measured by robust evaluation and benchmarking strategies, clear accuracy thresholds, and production releases that consistently meet predefined correctness standards over time. - Own gene, disease, and variant mapping logic in the AI system. - Design and maintain how genomic data is used and interpreted in AI workflows. - Define approaches for handling complex and edge-case genomic scenarios. - Set measurable accuracy thresholds for AI-powered features. - Define release criteria that AI features must meet before going live. - Lead the overall evaluation and benchmarking strategy for AI outputs. - Establish regression standards so future changes preserve or improve accuracy. - Partner with the AI Bioinformatics Benchmarking Engineer on automated validation. - Approve validation criteria that determine when AI features are ready for release. - Work closely with AI, Bioinformatics, Product, and Engineering leaders on system design. - Recommend where deterministic logic should supplement model behavior in production. - Ensure interpretation logic can be maintained and updated as new genomic knowledge appears. Qualifications - Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a closely related field. - Strong experience with VCFs and complex genomic datasets. - Familiarity with ClinVar, dbSNP, HGVS standards, transcript databases, and variant classification. - Systems-level leadership that defines standards and frameworks for correctness. - Experience working with production software engineering teams. - Experience collaborating with AI or LLM-based systems. - Experience setting or contributing to evaluation and benchmarking frameworks. - Comfortable working fully remote as part of a distributed team.

Key responsibilities - Proactively reviews supplier capabilities, assess operational gaps to identify risks and takes systematic actions to develop a world class supplier. - Develop positive relationships and work closely with Global quality leaders to manage, implement, and track supplier improvements. - Review and approve First/Last Article Inspection Reports, source inspections and self-release. - Perform process and product audits for proactive risk management. - Support authorities (FAA, EASA, CAAC) and customer audits. - Ensure supplier compliance while driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver performance. - Monitor supplier Quality metrics associated with supplier capability, trends and related production improvement efforts. - Support APQP process, systematically drives Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects. - Verify Containment actions and audit effectiveness. - Train suppliers in Quality tools and processes. - Provide technical leadership to coordinate implementation of advanced quality processes including statistically based variation reduction, control planning, mistake proofing. - Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities. - Drive supplier quality continuous improvement through supplier site support of Honeywell's Quality standards. - Enhance supplier quality culture through coaching and technical engagement. - Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Key skills and qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or similar. - 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience in manufacturing industry. - Experience in performing and leading supplier audit. - Able to read technical drawings and documentation (GD&T). - Fluency in English and French languages. - Ability to work and communicate in an intercultural environment. - General knowledge of how the site's business works and the interactions between departments. - General knowledge of group procedures. - Knowledge of computer tools (Office, SAP, various software). - Willingness to travel (app. 60%).
