Role Description Leidos Engineering is seeking experienced Project Managers to join our Strategic Program Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will work alongside engineering managers and account managers to provide Project Management Services supporting a large electric utility client. You will work with a diverse blend of Capital Transmission/Substation or IPP projects in Central Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Northwest Louisiana, Western Arkansas or Northeast Texas. The Project Manager will be part of Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions Division that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide. This role has remote working capabilities, but periodic travel to client sites throughout Central Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Northwest Louisiana, Western Arkansas or Northeast Texas will be required. Therefore, candidates located in these areas may be preferred. Responsibilities: - Lead electric utility project execution teams with a diverse set of contributors - including Engineering, Construction, Permitting, Siting, Environmental, Cost Controls and Scheduling functions - to deliver comprehensive capital transmission substation projects for electric utility clients. - Take ownership of overall portfolio performance, including cost, schedule, and scope management. - Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio. - Mentor and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. - Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes. - Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support organizational growth. - Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards. - Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel. - Identify project risks and mitigation strategies. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field. - A minimum of 5+ years of progressive Project Management experience within the Electric Utility Industry. - Experience as a Project Manager directly at an electric utility is strongly preferred. - Demonstrated experience working with US Electric Utilities, and a comprehensive understanding of electric power and infrastructure projects is required. - Direct experience working with electric power infrastructure projects. - Supervisory experience including team building and talent acquisition. - Strong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to travel periodically as required. - Proficiency utilizing MS Project suite with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel (must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Excel). - Previous experience working with AEP as a customer is preferred, but not required. Requirements - PMP Certification or willingness to obtain within two years. - Prior experience in a leadership position. - Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams. - Experience with PowerBI and/or visualization tools. This role serves as the central point of coordination between customers, service partners, and internal teams, ensuring timely resolution, accurate scoping, and efficient resource allocation. Coordinators are accountable for driving service requests through the pipeline while balancing speed, cost, and customer experience. Strategic & Tactical - Own the lifecycle of service requests requiring site visits, from intake through scheduling and readiness for execution. - Triage incoming cases from Technical Support and determine next steps, including validation of scope and service needs. - Define and validate scopes of work for internal Field Service Technicians and external service partners, ensuring clarity and completeness prior to dispatch. - Select appropriate service resources based on scope, location, cost, and partner performance, optimizing for both efficiency and quality. - Manage service queues and case pipelines within Salesforce, maintaining data accuracy and ensuring all requests progress within defined timelines. - Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding scheduling, delays, and next steps, ensuring a high-quality service experience. - Review and approve partner quotes and invoices, ensuring alignment with scope of work and cost expectations. - Monitor job progress and follow up on open or delayed work orders, escalating risks to timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction as needed. - Collaborate with Field Service, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other internal teams to resolve blockers and ensure successful job execution. - Support partner performance management by providing feedback, identifying recurring issues, and contributing to partner reviews. - Conduct root cause analysis on service issues and recurring failures, documenting insights and contributing to process improvements. - Identify workflow inefficiencies and suggest improvements to processes, tools, and coordination practices.
