Solution CAD Engineer III
Unlimited Technology, Inc.
• Work directly with customers, end-users, architects, and UT internal stakeholders to develop physical security system designs based on client requirements, standards, and best practices. • Create complete AutoCAD drawing packages for physical security systems including, but not limited to, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, and Intercom systems. • Develop drawing packages from concept-level designs, existing designs, or customer-provided documentation. • Update and maintain drawing packages to reflect design changes, red-lines, and final as-built conditions. • Incorporate customer-specific CAD standards, layering conventions, symbols, title blocks, and documentation requirements. • Support RFP, design/build, and proposal efforts through drawing takeoffs, system layouts, and documentation development. • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on CAD designs and system requirements. • Develop technical Scopes of Work (SOWs) aligned with system designs and customer expectations. • Generate cost estimates based on drawings, BOMs, and system designs for specific customers. • Collaborate with Solutions Engineers, Project Managers, and Operations teams to ensure design intent, constructability, and installation alignment. • Maintain version control, drawing accuracy, and documentation quality throughout the project lifecycle. • Demonstrate understanding of construction documentation and coordinate physical security designs within architectural and engineering backgrounds. • Ability to independently manage multiple design tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in physical security system design and/or CAD production
- Strong experience developing AutoCAD drawing packages for Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, and Intercom systems.
- Experience working directly with customers, end-users, architects, or consultants on system design and documentation.
- Experience creating drawing-based takeoffs, BOMs, and estimates.
- Experience reviewing and incorporating red-lines and producing final as-built documentation.
- Experience supporting proposal and RFP efforts through design and documentation.
- Experience with enterprise, government, healthcare, higher education, or commercial security environments is preferred.
- Experience with one or more of the following security platforms is a plus: Genetec, Lenel, Software House, Gallagher, Milestone, Avigilon, AMAG, Feenics.
