Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a mid-level Data Science Professional to provide remote support for our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Park/Patuxent River, MD You will work on a variety of topics within the Advanced Analytics and Innovation (AA&I) Branch. The primary topic involves the development of highly sophisticated analytics products for various Program Management Air (PMA) offices within the Department of Navy, among other Navy customers. These products will leverage programming languages such as python and SQL and business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Qlik and Power BI to analyze and visualize Navy reliability, maintenance, supply and financial data in an actionable format. This is a full-time position, with fully remote, hybrid and in-person options available. Be part of an exciting team making a difference for the US Naval Air Forces. What you will do… Your primary duties will involve using data and computer science techniques to assist in analyzing scientific and business operations problems across the Air Systems Group, which includes a diversified customer base across the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). Topics include: - Master the data lifecycle by gathering, cleaning, and preparing complex datasets. You will be responsible for joining disparate tables and meticulously constructing the final, analysis-ready data sources that power our applications and visualizations. - Apply your deep expertise in Python and SQL to analyze intricate datasets. You will develop novel metrics and key performance indicators, designing comprehensive, data-driven solutions that directly address customer requirements. - Analyze historical data and trends using advanced statistical methods to build predictive models that forecast future outcomes. You'll continuously refine and optimize model performance to drive strategic decision-making. - Design and build compelling, interactive dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik. You will perform analysis both in the back-end data source and within the visualization tools to tell powerful stories with data and empower stakeholders. As a Data Scientist on our team, you will be a hands-on practitioner at the intersection of data, analytics, and visualization. Your work will center on applying rigorous data science techniques to transform complex information into actionable intelligence. You will leverage your proficiency in Python, SQL, and advanced modeling to not only prepare and analyze large datasets but also to build the predictive models that guide our strategy. A key part of your role will be bringing data to life through compelling, interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik. You will apply your expertise in python, SQL, and statistics across the entire analytical lifecycle—from data collection and processing to the final presentation of statistical insights. While you will provide critical input on project planning and the development of analysis tools, the primary requirement for this role is deep competence in data science, not prior subject matter expertise in Air Systems Group. Qualifications What you will need: - Minimum requirements are a BS degree in data science/mathematics/Statistics (desired), Engineering/Computer Science (acceptable) and 5 years of related data analysis experience; 3 years with MS/MA - Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. - Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. - Familiarity with advanced mathematical, statistical, or analytics techniques - Secret clearance or the ability to obtain. Must be a U.S. citizen. Target Salary Range $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help lead Pinterest's responsible AI mandate within the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). In this role, you will design and build the data science foundations for automated adversarial testing of our GenAI products — developing attack strategies, evaluation frameworks, and harm-detection methodologies that operate at scale. You will work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, partnering with ML Engineers, Trust & Safety specialists, Policy teams, and Product Managers.
