POSITION SUMMARY The Logistics Coordinator is an entry-level position within the Logistics Management team, which is a subset of Cryoport’s Customer Service department. This Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the monitoring and management of in-transit shipment exceptions which includes: Monitoring of the exceptions queue, following the exception handling procedures to address the issues, notification of related parties, and escalation to other members of the Logistics Management and Client Care teams of any potential causes for concern. In addition, the LC is responsible for assisting the Logistics Management team with special projects and miscellaneous tasks as needed, as well as answering the 24/7/365 Logistics helpline to address or redirect calls. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to) • Monitoring of exceptions of live shipments through Cryoport’s web portal and e-mail notifications • Escalating exceptions internally to Client Care Analyst and externally to clients • Answering and routing client and carrier communications internally • External communications to carriers and clients throughout a shipment • Following up with written and verbal communication • Managing inbound calls and redirecting to appropriate parties, when needed • Creating and approving of orders in Cryoport’s web portal • Booking shipments domestically and internationally with couriers General • Interaction with internal departments such as: client care, quote desk, quality assurance, and accounting. • Administrative tasks relating but not limited to data entry. • Readiness to assume other duties as assigned, including up to Client Care Analyst duties. • Willingness to work afterhours and/or weekend shifts. Role (Overview of the Position) The Director of Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for building and managing the end-to-end supply chain infrastructure that will scale HOME GROWN from ~$20M to $100M+ in revenue. This position owns the full physical flow of goods: raw material procurement (domestic and international), vendor management including overseas finished goods suppliers, production coordination with Heirloom Organics, inventory planning and demand forecasting, inbound/outbound logistics, and multi-channel fulfillment across Amazon FBA, TikTok Shop (MCF and FBT), Shopify, Home Depot dropship, and future retail partners. Reporting to the COO/Integrator, the Director of Supply Chain leads the logistics team, owns the supply chain budget, and serves as the primary driver of ERP selection and implementation. This role must build the systems, processes, and team capable of supporting 600+ SKUs within two years while maintaining a stockout rate below 1%. This is not a maintenance role. The company is in a high-growth phase with expanding channels, a vertically integrated manufacturing facility, and plans to 5x revenue. The Director of Supply Chain must be someone who has built supply chain infrastructure at scale and thrives in environments where the playbook has not been written yet. Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role) Demand Planning & Inventory Strategy - Own the demand planning function across all channels and all SKUs (180 today, scaling to 600+ within two years). - Build and maintain rolling demand forecasts that integrate sales velocity, seasonality, promotional calendars, and channel expansion timelines. - Maintain a stockout rate below 1% across all active SKUs while minimizing overstock and dead inventory. - Establish safety stock models, reorder points, and lead time buffers for each product category and channel. - Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Brand Management, and Product Development to align forecasts with planned launches, promotions, and channel expansions. Procurement & Vendor Management - Consolidate and own all procurement across entities: raw seeds (via Heirloom Organics), envelopes, mylars, soil, pots, packaging materials, and finished goods from overseas and domestic suppliers. - Manage international supplier relationships including overseas finished goods vendors: lead times, import logistics, customs/duties, and quality assurance. - Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, lead times, and quality standards. - Build a diversified vendor base that reduces single-source risk as SKU count scales. - Manage purchase order workflows and ensure alignment between procurement spend and approved budgets. Heirloom Organics Production Coordination - Serve as the primary supply chain interface with Mark (Operations Lead) and the Heirloom Organics team in Grants Pass, OR. - Translate demand forecasts into production requirements and ensure production schedules align with fulfillment timelines. - Track production output against commitments. Escalate and problem-solve when production falls behind plan. - Collaborate on capacity planning as SKU count and volume grow, including equipment utilization (seed counters, bag packers, labeling lines). Logistics & Fulfillment - Oversee all inbound freight (vendor to warehouse/FBA/FBT) and outbound fulfillment operations. - Manage Amazon FBA compliance: IPI score maintenance (450+), restock limits, stranded inventory resolution, shipment plan optimization. - Manage TikTok Shop fulfillment across both Amazon MCF and Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT), including inventory allocation to TikTok warehouses. - Optimize B2C direct-to-consumer fulfillment for Shopify and TikTok orders. Determine when orders should ship from 3PL, Heirloom Organics directly, or FBA/FBT. Specifically optimize multi-unit order fulfillment to reduce per-unit shipping costs. - Oversee Home Depot dropship fulfillment and future retail channel logistics. - Optimize freight costs, carrier relationships, and shipping workflows. - Manage 3PL relationships and evaluate when direct fulfillment from HO is more cost-effective. Budget & Cost Management - Own the full supply chain budget: freight, raw materials, packaging, 3PL costs, and logistics overhead. - Track spend against budget with no more than +/-5% variance. - Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities across freight, procurement, and fulfillment without compromising service levels. - Report on supply chain unit economics and COGS trends to the COO and Controller.
