Job Description The Director, Human Resources will serve as a business partner to a Manufacturing Operating Unit and the respective leadership team(s) typically supporting 6-8 manufacturing plants. The incumbent will be responsible for developing short-and-medium term HR strategies and action plans that create solutions to problems and support business objectives. S/he will establish tools and cadences to ensure deliverables are clearly defined and then delivered are on-time, within budget, and achieve desired business outcomes. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and will lead a team of HR professionals across multiple manufacturing sites. Additionally, they will partner with colleagues in our centers of excellence such as talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and talent management. Key Responsibilities - Business Partner – Actively participates in strategic planning to align functional HR strategies, projects, and initiatives to deliver business objectives; acts as a confidant and coach to senior leaders - Leadership – Leads a team of HR professionals including HR managers and generalists serving as a mentor, coach, and point of escalation for serious employee relations issues - Engagement – Creates a common approach to engagement across the business unit’s office and production environments; proactively champions regular and effective communication at all levels - Talent Acquisition – Leads full-cycle recruiting process for all business unit and site leadership team member positions, including all plant and operations managers; consults with leaders on onboarding and immersion - Talent Management – Owns talent management process deployment including annual performance and talent reviews, workforce planning, development plans, learning & development opportunities, etc. - Company Culture – Advises and provides guidance to leadership regarding talent, organizational effectiveness, change management, and culture to align to Novolex’s core values and strategic initiatives - Analytics –Maintains dashboards and performs analytics to identify root cause and suggest appropriate countermeasures impacting performance for all People-related metrics - Compliance – Ensures compliance with and adherence to all local, state, and federal laws for all aspects of human resources management; stays current on trends related to human resources - Labor Relations – Partners with labor relations COE on negotiations, conflict resolution, the development and administration of collective bargaining agreements, and overseeing the grievance and arbitration processes Critical Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred - 10+ years HR business partner experience in a manufacturing or distribution organization - SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications or local equivalent preferred - Experience with talent management, recruiting, compensation, and organizational development - Experience with HRIS, Payroll, and Applicant Tracking systems - Experience driving strategic business initiatives through HR processes - Experience leading change in a fast-paced environment - Experience leading a team and developing individual skills and team capabilities - Ability to effectively coach, communicate, and influence leaders and team members at all levels - Strong business acumen and analytical skills - Experience working with a unionized environment and population preferred - Ability to travel up to 35% within the United States A reasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000 - $210,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
