Intern, Data Governance

Geisinger

• Assist in documenting and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures. • Support data cataloging efforts by helping classify and organize critical data assets. • Collaborate with data stewards and business teams to ensure adherence to data quality and compliance requirements. • Participate in data lineage and metadata management activities to improve transparency and traceability. • Contribute to data quality assessments and reporting, identifying gaps and recommending improvements. • Activities to enhance the mastering of organizational data. • Help prepare presentations and dashboards to communicate governance metrics and progress to stakeholders. • Support the creation of user learning materials.

Job Requirements

  • Basic understanding of data governance concepts (catalog, glossary, data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management, reference data management).
  • Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Fervent attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required).
