Job Description AECOM has a position available for an Electrical CAD/BIM Technician to support our growing Power Delivery Team. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of our offices across the United States. Our team works on high and medium voltage projects for municipal, utility, commercial and industrial clients. This position will perform technical tasks on a variety of projects including substation retrofits and new builds, overhead and underground transmission, distributed generation, renewable energy and energy master planning. Qualified candidates will have a familiarity with the electrical design aspects for power utility and industrial clients. The successful candidate will have an understanding and experience in electrical design and principles. She/he will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members. He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done with excellent attention to detail. The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:· - Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work to create and maintain complete electrical design sets by interpreting and incorporating engineering red lines, markups, and instructions into CAD drawings. - Produce accurate electrical construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, diagrams and schematics using AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit - Develop and manage 3D models for electrical systems, including equipment layouts, conduit routing, cable tray systems, and other device placements as necessary. - Revise drawings efficiently based on engineering feedback, RFI’s, change orders, and construction site markups. - Ensure all drawings comply with company/client drafting standards, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry best practices (NEC, IEEE, etc.) - Maintain version control and proper file management of all CAD and 3D model files throughout the project lifecycle. - Coordinate with engineering staff and other team members to resolve design conflictsand maintain model integrity. - Assist in quality control by performing self-checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability of drawings and models. - Provide technical support to engineers and designers regarding CAD standards, 3D modeling practices, and software troubleshooting. - Stay Current with new CAD/BIM software features, symbology, and drafting techniques through training and self-development.
