Engineers on this team develop and deliver of every stage of the incident lifecycle: - Intelligent Ingestion and Detection: Build automated AI agents to gather data and discover closures using proprietary Mapbox signals. - Validation and Conflation: Leverage algorithms to invalidate stale data and merge duplicate reports into a single, high-fidelity source of truth. - Strategic Delivery: Design the systems that expose this data across the entire Mapbox ecosystem. - AI Collaboration: Partner with the MapGPT team to evolve our Feedback Agent, allowing us to refine the map using real-time customer insights. What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role - 5+ years of experience building scalable high volume low latency backend services - 1+ years of experience building pipelines (streaming) capable of handling petabytes worth of data - Eagerness to learn and become proficient with many different test stacks and languages – Python, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, and AWS (CDK, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, etc.) - Knowledge and experience handling global data security standards - Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as GitHub - Ability to engage, learn and contribute quickly to the initiatives - Able to perform independently all the development tasks, based on designs and specs. - Self-starter who is communication and outcomes-oriented - An empirical analytical approach. Senior SQL Developer Summary of Position: Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, the senior-level SQL Developer is a hybrid role that sits at the intersection of SQL development and database administration, combining hands-on application and reporting SQL with critical production database ownership.
